help scared

just got told by doctor I have hpv and that i have cells that show possible cancer. im going for a coloscopy next week..

anyone here have it that is trying to get pregnant and or pregnant..

please tell me what its like to live with and how it effects everything..

i know how i got it..my oh's x had cervical cancer and he wasnt told that he could carry it

hi, were these results from a smear test ? if it was an abnormal result it doesnt mean it is cancer, just that these cells could be cancerous, they'll do the colposcopy just to see , i had an abnormal smear result years ago and was supposed to have a colposcopy but found out i was pregnant so didnr have it abd all my smears since then have been normal , try not to worry x

i found out in 2011 i have hpv, i also had cell changes, they are graded cin 1, 2 and 3. cin3 being the highest before it changes to cancer. these changes are pre cancer.
i had cin 3, i had to go for a colposcopy ( this is just a camera they use to get a closer look at your cervix) where they decided that id need a LLETZ treatment and booked me in for it, LLETZ is a procedure they did to take the area away that has changes,( it was the size of the tip of my thumb i was told).
i have had to have 1 more colposcopy since then which was clear, and iv had to have smears every few months since then (which have all been clear for cell changes),
these will go to yearly if my latest smear results come back ok , i had my last smear done this week.
im 24 weeks pregnant and it hasnt effected my baby at all.

just to add i was told to stop trying to conceive untill after i had the treatment, they took a pregnancy test before they did the colposcopy, and before they did the LLETZ on me (both negative but we had been trying back then). I waited until i had a clear result from my smear before we started trying for a baby again.
If you are pregnant i think they will keep a close eye on you, and maybe do treatment after you have baby.

got my time of the month so its on for next tues instead..thank for all the help though

i really really hope its nothing..i had such a ruff 5 yrs it would really suck now that im finally flowing back into life that this would happen...

I hope it works out well for you, i remember feeling very scared because i thought cell changes ment 100% cancer, but i know now it doesnt. if ur unsure about your situation dont be afraid to ask the doctor question,i was very nervous so i took a person with me who askd all the questions for me as i was to nervous.
