My 3 week old is feeding every 2-2.5hours, he is approx 7lb in weight now, he was full term 6lb 9oz.
He takes 100ml every feed.
Is anybody in the same situation?
Baby feeding very demanding ?
He gets fed around 11 times in a 24hr period and it's driving me nuts..can't get anything done at all, days go so quick!.

Is this anything to do with him been a light baby or has anyone any advice?
I have increased him from 100ml to 120ml but he always leaves the last 20ml in the bottle so I know it's not that I'm not giving him enough on his feeds.

I'm exhausted..any help appreciated. Thanks for reading.

Hi wish I could help my lo is 6 And half weeks and has always feed 2.5 hourly and she has 160 ml each time some babies just want it more often lol

Hi Hun I know hoe you feel my Lo fed day and night 1.5 hourly untill about 5 weeks! She was 6 lb 7 born

Does he fall asleep whilst feeding? Grace did this and we changed her teat sizes to the next ones which helped loads! It will get easier I promise the first 6 weeks are the hardest! He will be going through loads of growth spurts now but it will settele x

Hi, he doesn't fall asleep when feeding no, he's very hard to settle after a feed especially in early hours! I have got Dr brown bottles and have incidentally got the level 2 teats today to try get feed down quicker. I know they are for 3 month+ but he takes ages to feed, wind then he refluxs in his cot once laid down. Its so draining at 2am,4

A.m. I hope things start to look up at 6 weeks! I'm crying all the time. X

I know how it feels but it will gt better! Grace was on mam stage two teats at 10 days old which were two months plus xxx

:hi: I'm from Donny too :)

My lo was 6-2 when he was born and fed every 2 - 2.5 hours for 5 weeks. Its what babies do hun, welcome to motherhood! Don't expect to get anything done apart from the bottles, sterilising and nappy changes!

I would just follow your lo and go with it. It wont last forever and you will soon want these early days back as they grow so fast. It was hell for me kin the early days but I would give anything to be back there. ENJOY IT.

Have you got family/friends who can do your housework/washing/shopping?

hi hun

i feel your pain with the feeling of being a constant feeding machine

my lo is nearly 3 weeks old and shes always eaten a little more than average

now, shes taking 5oz every 3 hours, but i always make an extra oz which means i have to use the larger tommee tippee bottles already.

her birth weight was 6.11lb, last week she weighed 7.15lb so shes gained alot of weight.

my mw isnt concerned at all because she says that lo may not have grown too well inside thats why shes taking so much milk now...
it really concerns me though as she cries so hard for milk, sometimes after just 2 hours!!!

Oh god i feel your pain!! For the first few months J fed every 1.5-2 hours, it was insane!! If it makes you feel any better he is 1 now and only had 1 5oz bottle at night, i seriously couldn't imagine this!! xxx

My son wasn't as frequent but at 5weeks was drinking 9oz and was still hungry we moved him to 6oz of hungry baby Cow and Gate no.2 and he loved it now he is on stage 3 for 6 months and up.
Michael was only 7lb and he was sooo hungry however I was 6lb and I would only take 3oz up until I was 4.5months old
xx

Thanks for the messages. I thought it was just me in this situation! I'm trying not to moan but I'm whacked and very temperamental with family and partner.

I was going to suggest hungry baby milk, have you spoken to your health visitor? x x

hello,

Mine is 3 weeks old today and feeds every 1.5 to 2 hours in the day and 3-4 at night although today he's only managed 1 1/2 oz each feed he has been having upto 3 he's gaining weight fine. Doctor said we can try and stretch his feeds out from 6 weeks so im keeping my fingers crossed

Its totally normal, it will end eventually!

Sounds normal to me. Louie is 2 1/2 weeks and is eating every 2 1/2, 3oz usually sometimes closer to 4oz. He was born 8 9oz and was 9 4oz at 2 week visit...

Totally normal, when her belly gets a bit bigger she'll be able to drink more and the time in-between feeds will get longer.

hello Bradshaw, I was advised by Health visitor
that hungry baby should be avoided as it contains a resin that lays heavy on the stomach? Have you experience of using it? I would be interested to know if anyone has found it good for baby. I have just got him on aptimal comfort, he is taking feeds as regularly, but takes less as comfort is thicker. Is anyone using comfort milk, what have you found with this?

Hungry baby milk is to help delay weaning in babies who are drinking 8 or 9oz every 2 hours etc.

It doesn't contain any extra calories, it's just thicker so they don't get hungrier quicker. This is obviously useful in babies who are eating way too much as in 9oz a time but not newborns who need the calories for growth.

My LO used to feed every 1 - 1.5 hours with little amounts each time. It does get easier as they grow and is completely normal. It's one of those things that you just have to ride out :) Mine now goes about 4 hours between feeds and he's done that on his own.
