Looking for a bit of help. I used Agnus Castus before, a couple of years ago, it was 400mg I'm sure and I took 4 a day. So I've not used it for a while and decided to give it another try, bought some today from Holland And Barrett and it's completely different. Instead of the big green capsules, its now little white tablets and they're now 3.9mg. I asked about why they look different and was told its because they've been licensed now as they'be proven to do what they say they do. But I'm confused about the dose as they're only 3.9mg and not 400mg. The bottle says take 1 day, will this be enough? Is anyone else taking these "new" ones? How many a day?

Thanks :)

Sounds like the ones I take and they are effective. According to what I read the lower dose is supposed to be better suited to 'gently' sorting out irregular cycles, PMS etc. I believe that doctors in Germany can prescribe this amount of vitex for their patients. Not that other doses aren't safe, just sometimes more doesn't necessarily mean quicker or better. GL xx

Agree with Clizard - the ones I take are small but do the job indeed :-)

Thanks guys, so how many a day do you take? The bottle says 1-2 I think. Will start taking them tonight and see how it goes!

I take 1 in the morning. Was told by naturopath that taking them in the morning before 8am was helpful, but I think as long as you take them regularly should work fine. Good luck, I hope they help.
