Well like the title says I need some major advice on how to go about making up my babys bottles. Ive recently been using the ready made formula but now im going onto the tinned stuff and I dont have a clue how to do it really as I need to store the bottles.

Do I make up the water put in the fridge then add powder when needed ?
Put the formula in with water before they go in the fridge?
When Ive put the water into the bottles do I cool the water off quick before putting into the fridge?

Ive got so many questions so if someone could just put a really good step by step guide sorry to be a pain!!:dohh:

Thank you :hugs:

Everyone has their own way of doing it. I do it the way I was advised in hospital which is as follows.

Boil kettle and leave to cool for 20-30 mins.
Take bottles out of cold water steriliser and rinse in boiled water.
Add water.
Add powder and shake.
Cool quickly in bowl of cold water.
Place on back shelf of fridge for up to 24 hours.

Then when we need a bottle I just boil the kettle and heat the bottle in a jug.

My hospital recommends to do it this way because the fact the water is hot means it kills any possible bugs in the powder. When you just add the powder to room temp water any potential bugs won't be killed, however I know a lot of people do it this way and have had no problems. xx

Ah thank you Ill do it this way then my hospital dont seam to be very good on the advice side of things.

Mine were slightly over helpful. Gave me a huge leaflet about it and made me watch a video and everything before I went home  xx

Mine just sent me home, They didnt even give me all the paper work needed for the community midwife!.

I had no advice given to me at all while in there and with it being my 1st child and them knowing that I thought they would of helped out a bit or even checked on me but nothing. All hospitals are different just glad ive got bnb to turn to.
