help with formula question?

so I had to go to the emergency room last night and they had me take a medication and said I couldn't breastfeed for 3 days LO was on formula for 2 days in the very beginning because he was losing too much weight so I figured I would just use the same formula ( enfamil newborn) and all last night he was waking up constantly and so upset, then he projectile vomited (or spit up?) all over. He hardly ever even spits up and this was A LOT.
I'm guessing its the formula that's causing this? He always sleeps so well and is never like this I just feel so bad!
Should I talk to his doctor or just use a different formula? Is there a gentler one I can use? Also is it bad to be switching things so fast ( from breastmilk to formula to a different formula all in 24 hours)?

I switched from breast to aptimil straight away (cold turkey no combi feeding) and she was fine with it but TBH every baby is different and Ive heard of other babies being sick with aptimil. It maybe isnt the formula so perhaps you should try with it again and see if it happens again then switch if it does. x
