Hiya O:)

I've been on this board for about a month but tend to stick in the TTC area.
Me and OH have been TTC for over a year and on our 15th cycle.

I'm hoping to book my doctors appointment soon
but I'm reluctant too as I'm scared I'm going to hear something I don't want to

I'm not too aware of any symptoms of female infertility but am aware of some of the conditions such as POCS and Endo.

I have pretty regular cycles normally 28 days with the odd 29 days thrown in and last cycle was 33 days.
They give me cramps but nothing extreme nor is the bleeding too heavy nor very light.

I don't have any health condition / issue / complaint
Other than I am sometimes prone to anemia (although I don't eat much meat and very, very rarley red meats)

Is it possible that I could still have a certain condition with lack of symptoms?

Thanks Ladies :flower:

hi hun. It's worth getting checked out because in all likelihood, it's nothing serious and can be easily sorted and treated. best of luck xxxx

As DragonMummy says! And if it is anything then it can be treated, better to know what you're dealing with, just think of the end result!

Hi maybe,

My DH and I have been TTC for a year and a half now. I was a bit like you to begin with and avoided tests at the start.

You'll probably need to do a blood test to check your hormone levels first, then an ultrasound to check your ovaries and look for PCOS, and a levovist scan to see if there are any blockages in your fallopian tubes.
Your OH will need to do a semen analysis too (even though he may not want to!)

In about 30% of infertility cases there is a female problem, in another 30% there is a male problem, and in the other 30% there is a problem with both male and female (which was the case with us.)

I'm so glad we've done all the tests now because it means we can start treatment. If we hadn't found out about my PCO and his male factor, we would still be in the same place, another year down the track, another million depressing negative pregnancy tests later...

Just remember, everything is treatable. It's way better to know.
:dust::dust:

Hey,

Started out in a similar way with us. I kept thinking that maybe something is wrong with me even though there were no symptoms of pcos or endo and have regular cycles and always got a LH surge every month. DH was sure there was nothing wrong with him and he dilly dallied on the semen analysis. Turns out the problem is with him. Motility is very low and he has not responded to any medication as well. I would suggest that ur husband/partner does a semen test. Its a simple test. All the best hun. Keep us posted.

hi Maybe, u shd go for the tests as almost everything is curable in this mordern world..all we need is lot of prayers, faith and hope..am sure u will go well with the tests...all the best.

Thanks everyone,

I'll let you all know how it goes :flower:

xx

Good luck with the tests!
I think if your cycles are regular like that and you don't get strong pains then PCOS is very unlikely (symptoms are irregular cycles, difficulty losing weight, bad skin and excess hair)

You've been TTC for quite a while now. I couldn't wait to get tested and I'm glad we did 'cos OH has stupidly bad :spermy:
Once we knew where the problem was it was so much easier to handle repeated BNFs.

GOOD LUCK !!! xxxxxxxxxxxx

I see your IVFplanning appointment is soon ?
Does that mean there was no way to help out your OHs sperm?

Hope it goes well!! :flower:
