Right I know its a bit early to be seriously thinking about names but I cant help myself!

I love love love the name - Isabella ... like the nickname bella and bells etc and would think if is a little girl we would call her bella most of the time

BUT

The problem I have is our surname begins with a J

so technically her initials would be IJ .. do you think people might think her initials are BJ if we call her bella most of the time???

I know how cruel kids can be and id hate it if she was bullied because of BJ

What do you all think?????????

Even if you call her the nickname Bella - her initials will still be IJ:flower: if you name her Isabella.

My parents did not think of the intials thing - my older brothers initials are MAD:shrug:

I wondered tho about once she started school and if she wanted to be known as Bella on her school peg etc then maybe people would think of her as a BJ!!

ahhhhhhh

love the name tho :(

Hmm dunno about that it could be depending where you live. When I was in school for class - written things we were always either our intials or proper name not nickname...
But if she could be a BJ on lockers/pegs etc....
There are lots of other pretty femine girl names:
Alexandra (Alex/Lexi)
Tatiana (Anna)
Anastasia (Stasya)
Katarina (Kat)
Annalisa (Anna or Lisa)
Angelina (Lina)
Seraphina Sera)
Jessamine (Jess)
Francesca Frankie)
Sidney (Sid)
:flower:
I know you have your heart set in Isabella - it is not very likely I think to be a problem but suppose it could be if she is primarily called Bella and as you said it gets abrivated that way...
What about Izzy - that is pretty as well for a nickname?

what about a middle name??? here, whenever people do initials it involves a middle name and thus would break up BJ

Our nephew's initials are BJ and to be honest, the only people who notice and give the parents not the kid) grief are us because we were there when he was named. I think it'll be fine. Adults are worse with teasing each other.

I don't think it will be a big problem, as a small child none of the other kids would realise and then if she has problems with it when she's older she can go back to being known as isabella
