Hemoglobin level at 36 weeks

I am 36 weeks pregnant (3 more weeks to go - hurray!!!) and my hemoglobin level is 11.4. At the 28 weeks appointment it was 10.3, then 11.1 at 32 wks, and my doctor advised me to continue taking the iron pills until the end of the pregnancy. I was anemic with my first baby and took the iron pills until I gave birth, but they never told me the hgb levels so I am just wondering whether these levels are ok. My ObGyn says I am on the right track and having 3 more weeks until I have my C-section gives me hope my hgb level can increase close to 12, but just wondering whether anybody out there may have had same issue during pregnancy.
