First off, I'd like to apologise for posting this here, but I wasn't sure which forum to put it in! Secondly, I hope this doesn't matter, but I'm actually a guy and not a mum/mum to be!
Anyway, my girlfriend has got polycystic ovaries and thereore her periods have always been a little irregular. She is also on birth control pill, which she was told can also make your periods more irregular.
However, this week, she has been getting really thirsty, very tired, more hungry than normal and her last period began on the 15th February, meaning (if I've done my maths right!) she is around 3 weeks late, which even for her is a fairly long time. With her condition plus the fact she is on the pill, it seems very unlikely she is pregnant, but I am worried for her as I don't know if this is normal?!
I've told her that if she is pregnant, I will support her, and be there with her every step of the way, we do want to be parents but not right now (we are both 23 years of age). I'm just worried that she could be pregnant, and if she isn't, could something else be wrong instead? She cant do a test today as she is at work. Her mum even said yesterday that she could be pregnant

Dependant on what type of pill she's on then it does sound unusual. Most pills actually help regulate cycles as they involve a 7 day "break" each month that will cause a period. Other pills I know work differently and can cause women to have irregular or sometimes absent periods. So I guess a lot depends on that. As you have said yourself PCOS can also cause irregular periods. I have that and once I went 3months without a period. So I guess the best advice I can give is it could be nothing, it could be something. If she has been taking her pill properly it's unlikely she's preggo- but still possible. Taking a test is the only way to know for sure. If it's negative I'd say it's probably nothing to worry about but she should Probably go see her doctor to make sure. :flower: hope that helps!!
Be a good bf and go get her a test :winkwink: I'd love to know the outcome! Best of luck to you both anyways!
