Hi all - 2nd IUI tomorrow

Just wanted to introduce myself and talk to other's going through the same thing

Me and hubby are having our 2nd IUI tomorrow (our 1st IUI in March resulted in a pregnancy that was miscarried at 9 weeks). I have been doing menopur injectibles and we have one follicle which measured 17mm on Friday at the scan. We have been ttc for nearly 5 years now - I am 29 hubby is 33. Our cause of infertility is unknown which is so damn frustrating!

Has anyone had a miscarriage after their 1st IUI and gone on to have a success with the 2nd IUI? I am praying so much that tomorrow will be a success - just wondering if it is likely for 2IUI's to work consecutively???

Hi Jar!

I'm so sorry for what you've been through. My situation is a little different. I had a miscarriage last December after a Clomid cycle. After waiting a few months I tried again with 3 cycles of Clomid to no avail.

I am now 2 days post my first IUI. I had my trigger on Wednesday morning and IUI on Thursday afternoon! So we are very close in dates!

I hope all works out for you and I'll keep my fingers and toes crossed! Keep me posted on how things go for you!

Today was good - everything went well and the nurse said our chances looked good according to sperm samples etc - so just an anxious nail biting two weeks for us now. Would be nice to keep in touch as we are so close in cycles. Do you have a known cause for your infertility?

Glad to hear things look good !!!!

My cause for infertility is my age...LOL...I'm 41 and just married the love of my life this past year. Unfortunately we did not meet each other until very late in life, but have both wanted children so desperately!

As I stated earlier, I miscarried last December - actually found out by u/s that no heart beat on Christmas Eve, with D&C on New Year's Eve! Not exactly the holidays I would have liked. Hopefully we can both be celebrating something else this year!

I'd love to keep in touch with you....yes we are very, very close in cycles!

BTW...forgot to ask...how many follies did the doc see? And do you know the sizes?

I had four "good sized' follies the day before my trigger (19mm/17.5mm/16mm/14mm) - so he gave me one more day of injectibles and then trigger last Wednesday morning with IUI on Thursday!

That sounds like great odds with all those good sized follies, but unfortunately due to my age the eggs "may not be good"....so just holding our breath and hoping someone up above is looking out for us!

Has your OB scheduled you to go back to HcG testing? I am scheduled to go back September 3rd - unless the witch arrives prior to that. But...I probably won't be able to hold out and will probably do an FRER on Aug 31 (my deceased father's birthday) - hopefully he'll have a say in it! LOL
