Hi there! Hope you are all well. I have been reading some of the threads and thought it was about time I introduced myself!

I hope I'm not too old to join you!

My name is Tasha, I am 21 and I am 23 weeks pregnant with a beautiful baby boy! My OH and I found out around christmas time that we were having a surprise baby, it took a few weeks for it to sink in but after that we were extremely happy.

On the 11th Jan I woke up in agony. I was 99.9% sure I was experiencing a miscarriage (after having one in august, I knew the symtoms). Went straight to A&E and got sent to EPP for emergancy scan. Baby was in correct place with a strong heart beat but measuring two weeks behind. Doctor then decided to do internal scan. As he scanned he put pressure the right side of my tummy. I was in so much pain. I got the shock of my life when he said, "I am sending you straight for emergancy surgery, your appendix is about to burst!"

I was then told that getting this op during pregnancy is very risky for both me and the baby. There would be a high risk of miscarriage after the surgery but if i didn't get the op I would be in danger.

I had bonded with my baby and watched it dance around on the scan but now I had to decide. I opted to have my appendix removed knowing that I would probably not see my precious bean on the screen again.

I woke from surgery the next day feeling empty. Three days later I had to be scanned to check for a heart beat. As i lay on the bed with my eyes shut tight and tears rolling down my face, I couldn't bring myself to look at the screen. "There's your tiny jelly bean" the doctor said. That little baby is a fighter!

It has taken me until now to get back on my feet after the surgery. It still doesn't feel real and I don't think it will until I have my fighter baby boy in my arms in August. He is measuring a week behind now and loves kicking me! I have got a non existent bump at the moment but hopefully it will get bigger over time!

Thought I would share my story as it is nice to hear positives once in a while!

I hope I am welcome to join baby and bump!

Tasha xo

Aw i'm scared of the birth too. I'm hoping it will be really quick and painless! Haha!

Im almost 27 i have a 7 yr old girl, and im pregnant with our second child due end of august im 22 weeks with a little boy.
we spent over a year trying to get pregnant i have polycystic ovaries (had it since i was 14 ) so it was likely i would need fertility treatments however i didnt need them with my daugther but was trying for around a year with her and the day i went to the clinic to discuss treatments i found out i was pregnant with her.
for over a year i spent many many pounds on pregnancy test and many tears cried whilst we were trying for this little man my doctor wanted to wait again b4 trying treatments so i searched the net for alternative medicines and came across a herbal called Angus cactus it helps regulate ur periods i took it for 6 months and then had a break of a few weeks then started taking it again combined with that and a little bit of weight loss within 3 or 4 weeks of me taking it again i was pregnant, i couldnt beleive it we were so excited i still ended up spending a few more pounds on tests just to make sure, i was so suprised i wanted to double check and check again.
everyday im greatful for out little gift soon to be big and crying gift lol but its amazing how much i love him already and haven't even met him. both of other families are really excited as is my little girl as she wanted a baby brother.
so with the nursery done and just a few more things to buy, were counting the days untill he arrives and enjoying every minute of it. :happydance:

Wow! What an amazing story! I'm so glad that the alternative medicine worked for you! I can't believe you found out about your daughter the day you were going to find out about fertility treatments! That must have been a wonderful shock!! Im sure you are so excited. Your daughter will make a brilliant big sister! She is at the right age to want to help with your baby boy. Enjoy every minute of your pregnancy! The time is going so quickly for me!

it was a great suprise to find out that way with her, i hated the fact i could get pregnant on my own however i was more than willing to try treatments, i just thank god i could conceive ive read so many heart breaking stories of ppl that couldnt conceive due to pocs for so long i thought i would never get pregnant with my daughter or this baby its such an amazing feeling when if finely happens. All id say to other ppl out there with pocs it keep trying little miracles do happen from time to time x
