And guess what? My very stubborn little one is breech....
I was kind of upset and almost got worried... My doctor called me and told me my two options. He said i could try to turn the baby around, but i would have to go to a different hospital and be monitored along with baby, to make sure heart rates/blood pressure doesn't change along with the fact that the placenta could detach it's self..... and if any of that happens i would have to do an emergency c-section anyways.
He then told me that he thinks im the right candidate for being this far along to just do a c-section. So i told him that is what we shall do. He referred me to an obstetrician, the surgeon will be calling me today i think so i could go in meet him, and then he'll discuss how this will pan out and probably give me a date for when it'll take place.

Im nervous you know? I was so scared to do a normal birth for fear of pain, but being under meds and stuff freaks me out too. I've never had surgery in my life.
Any ladies going through or have been through this? what should i expect?

Thanks for reading and i hope ur all well xo

I think you made the right decision hun... I"ve heard the procedure they do to try to turn baby can be very stressful on you and the baby. Just not really worth it in my personal opinion...

I'm actually scheduled for a c-section myself at 38wks (due to placenta previa)-- and although, at first, I was pretty nervous. As I've not ever had a surgery either... after talking through the process with my OB... I feel so much better about it all now. At first I was more nervous about the epi, but I won't need one, just a spinal- which is quicker and less evasive... so that's good.

Plus, I've tried to focus on the positives... like I'll get to plan when she's coming, I'll get to meet her a bit early, and a few others as well... I think either way I would be nervous, this just takes the "guess" work out of it.

I know the experience can vary per woman- but overall, my friends who've had c-sections said it really wansn't that bad... and maybe a bit longer recovery, but still, you need to recover with way.

I'm sure all will go fantastic!!! Best of luck hun :hugs:

I kinda understand how you feel, up until last week I was in your situation and would have been undergoing an attempted ECV this week if my baby didn't turn head down itself, fortunately it did. I chose to try an ECV as the thoughts of a c-section terrifies me, like you I've never been operated on in my life and don't ever want to be either!

However this is your choice, yes the ECV has its risks and theres a lot of bad comments about it on here, but I have heard success stories from family and friends in relation to people they know. Then there's the c-section option, which is probably safest for you and your LO although recovery time is a lot longer than having a natural birth, but tbh these days women are up and walking about a lot sooner than c-section patients years ago.

I'm sure you'll know the right choice to make for you, trust your instincts. good luck x

Aw hun- I think you've made the right decision- I still dont know if my baby is head down or breeched yet, but if he were breeched, I would def do the c-section- I wouldnt want to risk any stress on LO to move him, and sometimes after that they move right back to being breeched- Good luck hun, and let us know when the big day will be :)

Thank you all for your very warming comments! Its hard to make a decision like that. I went with what my doctor was aiming towards and if he didn't even think we should bother trying i wasn't going to push for it. I will just have to start thinking positive positive positive!!

take care ladies :)

A friend of mine had a c section and for her it was the best thing since sliced bread! The healing process went really well too. Don't forget that with a vbac you can still end up REALLY uncomfortable after (I could not sit for 2 weeks) so there are pros and cons to everything. Most importantly, is that it's safest for lo.
Good luck x

This is my first baby and I will be having a c-section Oct 14th!! I feel very confident about my OB and her skills. I was nervous at first but she had really put me at ease and since baby is breech and in my case (didelphys uterus) there is a very min possibility our baby will have the room to flip. So I have come to terms with our c-section.
Wishing you all the best..Hugz
