hi everyone new to this forum and thought id let you all know that I am currently 27 weeks in a very crappy pregnancy xx

Hi...welcome... and awwww. I'm not enjoying being pregnant either for various reason... at least theres a light at the end of the tunnel huh!!!!

well found a bleed behind the placenta at 16 weeks and they said that the placenta had almos detached itself completly from the uterus wall and to expect the pragnancy to come to an end, the bleed sorted itself and then at the 20 week scan they realised there was next to no fluid surrounding the baby so they sent me to the fetal medicine unit in Glasgow for a more detailed scan and they also found out then the the baby was very very small

the 4 reasons that they thought there was lack of fluid and the baby was small was cause of

a chromosome problem, either Downs syndrome, Pacauds Syndrome or Edwards syndrome so me and my partner decided to have an amnio and they all came back clear

that i had picked up and passed on a viral infection, had blood tests and they came back clear

and then they think now that the placenta isnt working properly therefore not helping produce the fluid which means the baby cant reall grow

So no I am having a growth and doppler scan every Monday to keep and eye on the baby

Also had a 2 day course of Steriod injections in my bum lol. very sore to mature the babys lungs as they are going to deliver by ceserean within the next 8 weeks, they will decide at the weekly scans whether it is best to keep her in there or deliver

so thats my wee pregnancy hope everyone else is good xxx

awhhh sorry to hear about all your worries hun... thankfully all tests have come back clear, i have had the steriod injecitons and been told i am measuring very small aswell, i havent been offered any tests or scans to see if there is any problem tho! you seem to have a good medical team looking after you, did they say how small you were measuring??? welcome to the forum hun xxx

well im 27 weeks so prob she will measure at 23 weeks ive always been about 3 - 4 weeks behind kinda that measurement so yeah very small, cant believe they havent had you getting more scans though, i must admit i do have a great midwife and consultant xx

that must be a great reassurance to know they are checking you out and have tested you for various things, all everyone keeps saying to me is that i am measuring small but there doesnt seem to be any fuss made about it, i was measuring 25 weeks at 29 weeks, and have always been about 4 weeks behind, untill my last check up at my doctors last week im measuring between 2 and 3 weeks behind so i seem to have had a bit of a growth spurt, i have an appointment with my consultant on tuesday so hopefully i'll no more then... when i asked why havent i been given any growth scans or anything they just said that the placenta must have showed up ok and once that is ok then every thing must be ok and that i must just be having a small baby!!! so maybe its the same with you, they would have checked your placenta in any scans you've been having (so i was told).. so maybe we're just having small babies xx

yeah they said that it looks fine but they want to doppler scans to check the blood flow from the baby to the placenta as the baby is small just incase as it could be a placenta problem and just want to be on the safe side and keep an eye on baby, its also to decide when the baby will be delivered xx

well fingers crossed for you and bubs, you have a little fighter in there and they are keeping an eye on you both so hopefully the rest of your tests will come back ok and bubs can stay in another couple of weeks
