hi ive been ttc for nearly 2 yr now so went to see my dr who did some blood tests that was normal so he sent me to see a gyni at hospital were i was told after more tests and investigations that both my tubes were blocked and closed so then went in to hospital to have a op to open and unblock them my gyni was very happy with my op and said my tubes are now open and unblocked. Im now on my 1st month of clomid im on cd 6 and booked in to have a scan on cd 13 dont realy know what to expect then or whats going to happen after that i would be very greatful for any advice from anyone.

good luck to everyone

Hiya Angie33

Had to reply to your thread because it's spookily close to my situation! I'm too on my first month of Clomid, cd 7, with scan and injection booked for cd13!

I'm not really sure what to expect either other than what the info from the FMU told me eg internal scan to check for follicles and then if there are some, and there's not too many, I get an injection to make my body release them. Its then fingers crossed.

I'm on 50mg and haven't had any horrendous side effects - how about you?

Hi girls, I've had 4 rounds of clomid, 2 of them with scans and HCG injections.

Basically the scans are to check your follicles have grown or are growing large enough to release an egg, I was on 50mg of clomid and the scans showed 2 follicles on my first scan around 13mm, then when I went back 2 days later one had grown to 18mm, this was my dominant follicle and is the one that releases the egg. They like your follicle to be at least 18mm before they give you the injection, (around 20mm is ideal), the HCG shot makes you release the egg approximately 24-36 hours later, so they then advise you to BD for 3 days. I found I was ovulating without the injection so not sure why I needed that as well, but they just said it helps them time it better so they can track exactly when you're ovulating.

Hope that helps and Good luck!!

If your folicals arnt at the rite size do they ask you to go back for another scan?

Also could i just ask you when you finished your corse of clomid did you get any pains?

Hi again Angie

I have my scan on Thursday - will be able to let you know how it goes! I've also got some twinges in my tummy. Its not as much as the ovulation pain that I normally get but probably means somethings happening down there!

I've also had a nagging headache today and feeling a bit touchy - but that could be because it's Monday!

Keep in touch
