Hi all, I thought I'd join up after lurking for a while and being confronted with another BFN this morning. I've a 9 yr old child already and have never used any contraception since having him, kept thinking no rush it would happen some day. Started using opk about 2 years ago, still no success. About 6 months ago I started having severe mid cycle bleeding (always at ovulation time oddly) I'm now seeing a gyn who is also an infertility specialist. He has prescribed me progesterone to take (days 12-26). Anti mullerian test came back as being within normal range which is hopeful and the progesterone has stopped the mid cycle bleeds. I'm to have a hysteroscopy next month.
Was sure this was the month (13dpo today) and first time I've waited so long before POAS, but having taken it out of my bin 4 times to recheck it..its still a BFN. Hi to everyone

Hello, and welcome! I have an older child also (17) and am guilty of rummaging through the garbage to recheck my test :haha:

Welcome MrsDooLittle! This is a great forum with a bunch of really nice ladies. Sorry to hear of your troubles but keep the faith! Oh and you are definitely not alone here. Many of us struggle with the same issues.

:hugs:

Thanks for the welcome. Has anyone had a hysteroscopy before? My gyn sounded a bit off when he described the condition of my womb (I had a scan to look at it) He said I had the start of fibroids, some minor cysts and my womb had "fallen quite a bit forward" He said it was not untypical of someone my age but certainly didn't help with ttc. He then sent me a letter saying he would see me at the hysteroscopy and he was hopeful that I would be able to conceive in the future. I guess I'll have to wait till after the procedure to find out what happens next.

I should add, I'm 39 btw. On first meeting with my gyn he kept using the term "40 upwards is a normal age for pre-menopause symptoms" I lost count of how many times I said "but I'm 39" and he pulled a face. Splitting hairs I know but I was worried he was trying to write me off going for infertility treatment.

Some Dr.'s can just be so insensitive! My gyno is a woman and she is very nice and understanding. I gave up on men a long time ago. LOL Not to say there aren't good male gyno's but just not my preference. :)
