Hi ladies, I hope i can help you all in 2 ways here. I myself have a Hiatus Hernia AND i'm a gastric nurse (currently working in Endoscopy). I leave myself at your disposal

.
Firstly are you undr anyone at your local hospital? H.H's are extremely common & can be treated with medication if they are not too severe. They can also grow & shrink, basically the more you vomit & produce excess stomach acid the more they grow & vice versa.
Medication (i.e a PPI proton pump inhibiter) stops you making excess stomach acid which is what causes the awful chest pains (i was in hospital for 103 days over a year before i got diagnosed and onto correct medication), it is not known to be harmful in pregnancy (i am taking a high dose now) and it can make the world of difference.
There is no reason why you shouldn't have a normal delivery, i know i plan to.
Surgery is usually avoided these days now we know we can control it on safe medication unless it is causing sever problems & the patient is drastically loosing weight and becoming malnourished because of it.
Have i missed anything out?
Stress plays a major contributing factor so try to chill (not easy especially right now) and foods are an issue, try to avoid spice, grease and going hungry for too long.
Feel free to post here (i'll subscribe tot he thread) or PM me if you'd like more info or if i can be of any help.
Good luck to you all ladies xxx
