High BP AND diabetes in pregnancy - anyone else???

Hi Ladies

I've been receiving treatment and close monitoring under consultant for high blood presure since 20 weeks. I'm now 31 weeks and 2 weeks ago was diagnosed with gestational diabetes.

Now the diabetic team have referred me to the diabetic consultant and said that I will monitored for growth under him so I was being monitored for a small baby due to high BP, now I'm being monitored for a large baby due to GD

The diabetic team told me this morning that they have cancelled my appointment with my regular consultant which was booked in for next week and rebooked me in with the diabetic consultant. I'm confiused because I've been told all the way through how serious my high BP is and suddenly the GD seems to have taken priority and I'm worried that my BP will not be taken seriously.

I'm also already on methyldopa and asprin for the BP and the diabetic nurse has put me on metformin for GD without me even having seen the consultant.

Has anyone else had a combo of these 2 complications and if so what treatment or monitoring are you getting????

I have both...first came GD then came high BP...in my case GD trumped BP too. Though I am yet to take anything for BP. Daily sugar monitoring, Weekly BP monitoring by mw , once in 4 week growth scan n GD consultant appointment. Possible induction at 38 week.
