hi all,

Wondered if anyone is on this and what your experiences are of it. My LO is gaining weight but not piling on the pounds - she is below all the "lines" i have a feeling that the HV will suggest this but im reluctant to change anything (Emilia is fussy enough as it is!!)

Is she following her curve? What have her last couple weights been? Some children are simply not meant to be big babies. Not everyone can be at the top of the chart.

I would not consider increasing calories of the formula unless she's loosing and you cannot up her ounces or it doesn't help her gain.

DS followed a growth curve of the 10th percentile and only recently at age 4 is now up to the 25th percentile.

Didnt know there was such a thing!

Well she was only 5lb 1oz at birth (full term, she's not a preemie) and so is below all the percentiles meaning she is on her own curve! She is only 8lb 4oz now at 12 weeks, after her weigh in at babyclub yesterday it seems she has dipped below her own curve (if that makes any sense). The hv mentioned something about high calorie formula just after she was born but I was bfing then so didn't think anything of it x

Do you actually see a doctor for the baby? I'd ask. How low did her weight get after birth? Count from her LOWEST point to now. So she's gained over 3 pounds in 3 months. That's good.
