Hi! I don’t post very often, but I have been on and off the forum since 2013 when I was pregnant with my first.

I’m just recently found out I’m pregnant with my 3rd. I’m 40 and we have been trying since sept and I have had one loss in November.

I’ve been seeing a fertility specialist and was scheduled for IUI next cycle but conceived naturally so this pregnancy is very very much a surprise.

I had my HCG done at 14 DPO and it was 274 and at 16DPO it was 932 so that’s a doubling time of 27.2 hours. Because of my age and history, Im so so worried it’s a molar pregnancy.

I was able to check my results online Friday evening and I won’t hear from my dr until Monday. So all weekend I have been so worried and searching for reasons why this could happen.

I know I’ll just have to wait to hear from my dr but has anyone else had this happen and it be OK?

Thank you for reading

Hi hon
First of all congratulations on ure pregnancy I am also a older mummy to be I'm 39 so were very similar in age.
Second of all I dont know all that much about HCG levels because in the UK they dont do HCG level testing. All we have to rely on are those lines getting darker on a pregnancy test

I have learned a little bit about HCG numbers tho just from other ladies and being on here and app its normol for the numbers to double every 2 to 3 days so it looks like ure doubling nicely hon.
This is mine and my husbands 3rd baby together and I was like a nervous wreck in the early stages and even rite through the first trimester because I've had 3 Misscariges in the past so I totally understand how anxious you are.
I really hope ure numbers continue to double and that u have a very healthy and happy 9 months.
Stick baby stick[-o<

When I was pregnant with daughter my hcg was 18,762 at 20 DPO and I asked my OB about molar bc i thought that was high. He said with a molar pregnancy, he'd expect numbers to be much much higher. He said he's seen them over 100,000 early on. Since you are doubling quickly, I'd lean more towards twins than a molar. As we get older (I was 45 when I was pregnant with daughter...a natural blessing as well, so I've read up quite a bit) we have a greater chance of releasing more than one egg. Good luck to you! And congrats!!

Thank you ladies for replying. I have had a total of 4 miscarriages in my journey to be a mom, so I’m always super paranoid during the first few months of pregnancy. Google can be a scary place when you’re experiencing anything other than “textbook”. Twins would be pretty scary, but so amazing.

Thank you so much, you’ve both helped ease my mind while I wait to hear from my dr.
