Hi Ladies,

So I found out today that my regular OB is sending me to a high risk pregnancy Dr. He is sending me there for hypothyroidism, previous bleeding (placenta was bleeding in the beginning), low weight gain for me (lost 18 pounds due to HG, have only gained 10 back) and contractions.

This is a first time pregnancy for me and I am very worried about this... is there any ladies that have this too??

Is it the perinatologist you are being sent to? I'm under the care of one for various reasons and they are really good:thumbup:

Yes that is what he is.. I couldn't spell it... LOL! I am just worried...

hi, you are alot further through your pregnancy than me but i was just diagnosed on monday as having hypothroidism, im 10.5wkks and have been feeling horrendous, actually thought i was having a heart attack last w'end due to my heart beating so fast. from my blood screening the doc said a normal t3 reading in a woman my age would be 3 to 3.5 and mine is 18.9!, theyve started me on medication and am having scan and appointment with specialist on the 3rd dec so hoping for some reassurance and answers then, made the huge mistake of googling it and it has scared the life out of me reading about the problems it can cause to me and/or baby, (please dont google it!)

I have had the hypothyroidism now for a little over a year. I take a daily medication and get my levels checked once a month unless something is wonky about them. When I got pregnant they had to increase my meds. But don't google! Its not that bad once they get it under control. But I know how you feel on feeling crappy... It will get better for you.

:hugs: Try not to worry too much, they are very on the ball and will look after you.

I have hyperthyroidism, although this isn't why im high risk, I can understand the effect this little gland can have! My TSH was 0.1 last time it was measured and I see my endocrinologist every month. Was it hypo or hyper for you, just that I know hyperemesis is associated with hyper (as in fast metabolism rather than slow) and I do have had it, its controlled with meds now but my weight needs to go up also.:flower:

I am hypo. My sickness is controlled now but sucked for like the first 22 weeks. I eat small meals all day so I don't get sick though or it seems to come back...
