Highish FSH at 30 years old

Hey ladies

I've been ttc for 1 year now and decided to get a fertility check up.
I have had all blood tests and scans done for fertility testing except for checking tubes and My FSH WAS 9.9. The upper limit of normal is 10 for that lab. The fertility doc said it is pretty poor for someone of my age and that time is not on my side. Everything else was ok but She said that this is a sign that my ovaries maybe starting to wind down! Yikes! I'm only 30! Has anyone experienced this and any success stories. I am thinking all sorts now; like has being on the pill for 12 years, suppressing my ovaries caused this or am I just freaking out a bit too much!

hi, my fsh was 9.8 at 27, i've not had it tested recently but i got pregnant the following year. i hate to think what my fsh is now though... (i'm 31 next week !)

FSH is no longer considered the most reliable indicator tbh (though it's still pretty much all the nhs offer).

High FSH simply means your ovaries are having to currently work a bit harder to ovulate, if you still ovulate that'sa good start.

If you are very concerned you may wish you have a AMH blood test - this needs to be done privately (about £80) and indicates if you may need to consider extra help sooner rather than later.
You could also consider a antral follicle count (ultrasound scan) this would be more costly and tbh if you only do one do the amh blood test. It is considered static and the result is the result (v's an FSH that varies)

High FSH isn't the end of the world as the PP says.
