I really want to go away somewhere before LO is born. But feel a little depressed because where on earth can I go and actually have fun at 31 weeks (how far along i'll be when and if we go). FOB is going to Las vegas in September which makes me feel crap, because I'd LOVE to go there.
It irritates me he's going so close to my due date but then again we aren't together so I can't do much about it. Even though we aren't together, he knows it upsets me so he said to choose somewhere to go in August for 4 nights (we hang out alot these days as we are very close--although not together!).
BUT where on earth can I go?! I mean, most holidays in the sun involve bikinis and flat tummies (how stupid am I going to look with a giant belly in a bikini) lots of clubbing and drinking (don't want to poison LO with alcohol!) or maybe some fun activites at least, like surfing...horse riding etc...(can't risk getting injured and nowhere would allow me to).

So the idea was at first really appealling and now I just feel more depressed. Everyone is going away and I'm not...or I can but it wont be the same.
Where would you go if you had the choice, or where have you been if you did go away somewhere this far into pregnancy?
Please I need ideas big time. I NEED to go somewhere and have a worthwhile holiday! What can I do and where can I go at 31 weeks? xx

what about a really nice few days away in a hotel with a spa? you could get massage's and pedicure/manicure, facials and all sorts, and you could go swimming too ... oh and if u can't be bothered going anywhere to eat there is always room service :haha:

Oh that sounds nice...but don't most massages involve lying on your tummy? I might squish my baby haha xx

Some spa's do packages for mummies to be. Or some will just modify and change if you tell them you're pregnant (i.e. back massages can be done upright on a special chair forgot what its called though) - Just ring and ask first

Yeah, I won a competition and one of the prizes was a pregnancy massage, apparently they are really good!
Too bad I can't use it as it is to far away :/

I agree that would be the best knd of holiday, not too tiring and you don't have to go far!
x

i'm too lazy to go anywhere this summer!
i figured i would save up and then me, OH and LO can go on a holiday with LO next year :winkwink:
i think a spa day or something like that could be loverly!
booking a hotel and going around town near you is a nice idea and you can always go back if your feet hurt etc

if im honest i only really suggested the spa weekend kinda thing because i want one hehe, gota live with doing my own toes and massaging them myself though as i'll be back at college so won't have the time.

hope you enjoy it though :)

i can just about at the minute but it sure isnt comfy at all! but if all else fails then i'll be paying to get a pedicure before labour ... i think it was ally who said something about the fact that she should have painted her toes whilst in labour ... i don't want to find myself saying that lol

 godd knows what i'll be saying!
gas and air will be my best friend ;-)
xxx

nope, apparently i can't have one because i've had a lumbar puncture in the last 12 months but i don't know.

i'm hoping for a waterbirth anyway so could have one

I'm guessing you probably don't want to go very far but I went to Tenerife when I was just over 30 weeks, and I loved being able to relax and do nothing for a week in the sunshine, and swimming is amazing whilst pregnant - my OH couldn't get me out of the pool :haha: just loved the weightlessness feeling.

A few people said it seemed like a waste of money to fly over there and pay for a hotel for a week to just lounge around doing nothing, but it was soo worth the money :) xx

I'm going on a spa break when I get bigger xxx

Thanks girls!
Decided on a spa long weekend in Salcombe, Devon overlooking the sea! It looks great, and i'm really looking forward to it now! xxx
