i never post in here, i have been ttc for 13 months, but i just dont feel this is where i belong just yet as i want to wait for cycle 12, and this is only cycle 5 for me in that time...hope no one minds!:flower:
(warning a little long!)
So my mother went to a holistic medicine doctor about a month back. she was told that she had about 39 types of paracites in her body, that her polarity was off, that 9 of here systems were working improperly, that she has a gluten allergy, and that she shouldnt even be able to function, much less work a full time job! now a month later she is on a very strict diet set by the herbalist and is taking 14 different natural suppliments to rid her body of hte paracites and fix the problem...she has lost 14 lbs and is feeling amazing....
So i was thinking she might be able to help me with my fertility issues...but for starters my mother doesnt know im TTC, and i am not going to tell her since she cringes at the mention of sex between me and my husband and i dont want the pressure, and it cost 120 USD for the consultation plus the cost of suppliments ( i dont have to buy from her but it would make it easier)... so i guess my question is has anyone used a holistic doc to get pg, regulate cycles, etc. and do you think i should give it a go? my mom wants me to go see her anyway because she thinks i may have the gluten allergy too (fin great!) and she is offering to pay...so i guess i am going anyway but you ladies always have a good answer...so what do you think>>>??????

Hey

I'm a big fan of holistic medicine  but if you have only had 5 periods in 13 months I'd make a bee-line for a conventional Dr TBH.
Holistics can really help, but conventional tests will give you a better medical idea what you dealing with.

I'd also be a little skeptical about you mums Dr, I don't mean to sound rude, but ... parasites? Which can only really be diagnosed through urine, blood or stool samples ...
I'm not doubting your mums feeling good, generally cutting out gluten will cause weight loss, and increased energy etc

I guess what I'm saying is holistic is good, its great, just be careful and IMHO try to get to specialists .. a homeopath, or a herbalist, or a acupuncturist, rather than someone who tried to combine to many things, if that makes any sense?
Holistic medicine is a minefield as its so open to abuse and there are so many separate qualification bodies.

:hugs:

Hi, I had a chronic candida problem years ago and went to my western med. doctors for years before finally being very frustrated and going to a naturopath and then also a homeopath. I had great results with both naturopath and homeopath and highly recommend using alternative approaches.
So my personal outlook is to see western doctors to gather some facts/monitor and deal with acute problems, but to see alternative docs to treat chronic issues. There are abuses all around in every field, in every walk of life, but there are also many wonderful people wanting to help each other, so go with your intuition about any one practitioner.
Good luck!
RR
