Not sure if this is the right area to post about this topic, but does anyone here homeschool? Or know a good forum for discussing homeschool? My husband and I just started homeschooling this year I and I'm looking to talk to other parents about homeschooling issues/questions, etc. Any assistance/direction would be greatly appreciated.

I homeschool but i am in the UK so i am not sure the sites i know would be of use to you.

Feel free to PM me though if you want to chat xx Good luck with it all

Thanks, I didn't think anyone was going to respond. lol Actually one of the sites I find very useful is a BBC site and my boys use it for typing. They LOVE it, so much more fun for them and it takes them step by step. Congrats on your baby girl, mine is 6 months old and she's just got her first tooth! It goes by so fast. I'm sure you're ready to meet her by now. I'll PM you as I have a few questions to bug you with. :p

Another UK home educator here. :) There's also a thread in the groups section for homeschoolers. https://www.babyandbump.com/parenting-groups/540506-home-education-schooling.html

I dont home school but am a primary school teacher (though I am not working at the moment since at home with my baby girl). Have found some good websites if your interested. If you want a good site for work sheets and games this one has lots of links which r good https://www.woodlands-junior.kent.sch.uk/teacher/general.html, other ones we used at my school were https://www.ictgames.com/, https://www.bbc.co.uk/schools/typing/ and https://www.bbc.co.uk/schools/typing/. The children loved these sites along with cbbies and bbc bitesize. It depends on how old your children are, these websites go right to end of primary age which is 11 years old in uk. Feel free to ignore since I know I dont have any experience of home schooling, just thought they might help.

Hi I have only just started home schooling my 12 yo due to bullying, I am really enjoying the freedom tbh and my husband and i are planning to homeschool my 8 and 7 yo too siin as well as my baby who is 5 months when the time comes. I have found Education Otherwise to be helpfull with meeting other parents etc.:haha:

Hiya :)

I don't fully homeschool but I am a teacher/tutor so if you ever want materials for a particular subject give me a shout :) I may be able to recommend worksheeets etc for a particular topic.

ALthough I decided against homeschooling for my daughter (I wanted to but decided she needed to socialise more) I do think parents who are are able to dedicate themselves to homeschooling are amazing.

Please do PM me any time. xx

We found Education City to be a good site. It is paid for but there is lots of great content. I think they do a trial as well.

starfall.com That is the site that my son's kinder class uses, and you can use at home too. It is a great site and he loves it!
