Honest opinion on ........... Mercy

I seem to be the only person who likes it my mom thinks it sounds depressing like "have mercy on me" or she says french for thank you and she says people will think im copying Madonna.

I actually got it from hollyoaks and thats what they shorten Mercedes too.
Im not really keen on Mercedes, can anyone think of another name I could use to shorten it too. Id like to just use Mercy on its own but need to convince everyone else.

I do really like it iv got very dark hair and if she looks anything like her big brother she will be dark haired too and I just think it will really suit her to me its a pretty name but to everyone else its a big NO.


Come on what do you think of when you hear the name?

I love it. There was a character featured in my favourite book (Tess of the d'Urbervilles) called Mercy Chant. I think it's really pretty. Good choice. xx

Just so you know, Mercy is a drama series coming out this year in the US and UK and is tipped to be pretty big.

I think it's a ncie name but for me personally it conjures up images of begging for mercy (like when me and my little bro used to play fight lol!). Having said that if you like it then nobody else's opinion should matter and they'll all just have to like it or lump it!

you know what....the more I say it, the more I like it. I definitely like unoriginal names and if my bf was game for unoriginal names I would love to find some name like that. I definitely think you should go with your gut feeling and if you like it....she'll like it! who cares what other people think!
