Honest opinion on ........... Mercy

I'm not a huge fan, but what if you gave it a spelling that distanced it from "begging for mercy"? I kind of like Merci, which (I believe) is french for "thank you" and also might screw people up with the pronunciation...Merce, maybe? Maybe not. I usually don't like weird spellings of names, but I think I'd prefer it in this instance.

I think its a cute name BUT heres a few things that would put me off

A)would you want people to think of Mercedes from Hollyoaks when they see your baby
and
B)if you ever wanted to go on holiday to France they are going to think you've named your baby 'thank you' (merci).

If you really love it though obviously I think you should go for it xxx

Im not bothered about hollyoaks rather people think of mercedes from hollyoaks then "begging for mercy" lol.

I jut dont think OH will ever come round to it anyway

I actually quite like it , it was a name that we have considered. I first saw it on a headstone next to my nans grave! not the best place to look for names I know , but i just liked it, its unusual and my DHs great nan was apparently called Mercy too, so I its actually an old name. I say if you like it go for it . xx

Mhmm.... I'm not keen on Mercy.... Like your mum it just makes me think of depression and Madge and french.... Bad combo for me I'm afraid!
