We have decided that if our baby is a boy, OH gets to choose the name and if shes a girl, then I choose. OH came up with this name and is pretty adamant lol.. what do u guys think?

Deon Gary Murphy (Gary is OHs name, and Murphy is his surname)

I am warming to it so I think we may use that if its a boy. Previously I thought Deon was a girly name!

What do you all think?

I like it, never heard it before for a boy or girl, but it goes nicely with your surname x

Lol I had never heard it before either, he claims he thought it up himself... Lol! It does have a nice ring to it though

I was at school with a girl called DIONNE/DEON. So for me it's feminine, sorry x

ive never heard of it before but have heard of Dionne which is feminine...

but if you both like it id say go for it  (at least he wont be one of lots of kids with the same name at school etc...) xx

I think its nice for a boy. I went to school with a boy called Deon (although I think he spelled it Dion).

I know a boy Deon (spelled Dion though) and a girl Dionne lol but I like it

Well Dion Dublin is a bloke and I don't think anyone could accuse him of being girlie! Note: For US readers Dion Dublin is a famous football (soccer) player.
Personally it's not my cup of tea but I think it's OK for a boy or girl.

I think Dion Murphy is an awesome name - not sure about the Gary part - but none of my kids have got middle names I would have chosen, they are all in honour of a family member, so I kinda like that!

actually the more i hear it the more i like it...its def a grower and i knew a female dionne...kinda got a footballers ring to it :D xx

Well the first thing i thought of was Dionne Warwick, a female psychic, from when i was a kid... i remember seeing her commercials on TV...

I just looked it up online, tho... & found a male basketball player (Dion Waiters) & a male football player (Dion Lewis)...

So i guess it's a unisex name...

I think it is a great name. I have heard of Dion for a boy, not unusual. Just the spelling is different.

Yeah Dion isn't that unusual in Canada but I think when Its spelled Deon, it is considered feminine.
