We have a short list of two names for our baby girl. It's either Mollie or Marnie. The name is to go with Macie, I think both go well but can I have your honest opinions on which you would choose.
I'm delighted we're having another girl but naming her is harder than naming a boy as we've already used our favourite girls name

I love Mollie, classic and cute, Marnie is a little harsh sounding iykwim, plus I know an unsavoury person who has a daughter named this, so for me the association puts me off. Mollie and Macie sound very cute together :)

I prefer Mollie (although prefer Molly as the spelling.)

Marnie is cute but sounds like a nickname to me.

Marnie sounds like a nn to me too.

I like Molly.

I love both of them but I think Mollie goes better with Macie.

Thank u everyone, deep down I prefer Mollie too but my sister already has a niece on her husbands side called Mollie and she's trying to put me off calling her that. She says her kids will have two cousins called Mollie, would it put any of you off it?

No. :) Molly is cute, although I wouldn't spell it Mollie, it looks unfinished that way

I wouldnt worry too much about the cousins having the same name - we have that with the name Freya as my sons cousins and on top of that two aunties called Mandy.

I also prefer Mollie and this was on our list too its a classic pretty name, i dont mind Marnie but it reminds marmite when i look at the name:wacko:

Oh no, something terrible has happened. I now only see marmite when I look at Marnie now!!!! I used to love the name Lydia but my brother in law said it sounded too much like chlamydia, you can guess the rest! :dohh:

No it wouldn't put me off. I have two cousins called Gabriel, one on my mum's side and one one my dad's, it really isn't a big deal. When referring to them we say Aunty Lily's Gabriel ect but honestly they are in their 20s now and it really isn't an issue.

I prefer Mollie/Molly by a mile but Marni goes better with Maci. Have you considered Marley?

We both like this but would spell it Mali, the Welsh feminine way but DH cousin recently had a boy called Marley so it's a no go area. Such a difficult decision  thanx for all your input ladies, much appreciated x
