The midwife, bitch from hell has just been and she has made the last 3 weeks hell for me and my baby!! Now Hannah has gained 3oz in 3 days she had a smile on her face.

They were telling me to express after every feed and then and top her up with it the next feed. Only problem was Hannah wiould not handle the quantity well at all and was sick lots. So I decided to introduce little and often. Now I am waking her up every 2 hrs and feeding her. she feeds effectively this way. 10 mins and she falls asleep easily. Not every time, its 50/50, she will take ages to settle some times and she can feed every hour if she doesn't get enough. So I am still expressing atleast twice a day to keep my supply up and to have enough to top up in the night when she is taking too long to feed. I syringe feed though and I will give her formula too if I haven't got enough expressed!!

I hope this helps some one else if they are having problems. It is so difficult as she is early and small and jaundiced. Although the Jaundice is almost gone now it was at toxic levels not long ago!

I'm so happy now!! :happydance:

I'm very, very proud of you honey:hug::happydance::happydance::happydance:

That is wonderful news. My MW swears that a bit of natural sunlight is the best thing for jaundice. As it is winter and cold, the best thing to do is find the sunniest window and let the sun hit her there. Strip her down to her diaper, make sure the room is nice and warm and let the sun shine on her!!!

This is what we did with Alfie and within 4 days of being at home he was a normal colour again.

:hugs: well done Logie hun, glad to hear things are a bit better xx

We did that with the window and it has helped to clear up the last of it as she is so much pinker now.

Thanks for the comments ladies, it means so much!!
