With my first pregnancy I had SPD at 24 weeks, then GD at 35 and they decided DD was huge and I was induced under consultant care at 38 weeks.
My GD was mild
She wasn't big
The induction was hard going
I only agreed because my sister went well overdue, her son was too big for her to deliver and due to negligence and lack of monitoring my nephew ended up being starved of oxygen for a very long time
. I was terrified of the same thing happening to DD.
As it was we had the same labour almost exactly ( I was induced on synto, became hyperstimulated, needed an epidural etc) but DD was fine, whereas my nephew wasn't.
This time I've no GD, no SPD and although I'm told baby feels big this time (as opposed to the charts saying so last time, and being told she didn't feel big) I'm being left to my own devices.
I've opted for the midwife only birth centre at my local hospital, but it's right below the consultant unit if needs be.
Tell me I won't need an epidural this time as long as I go naturally? I'm getting nervous now but sure that as long as I trust my body I'll be fine. I did 7 hours of back to back labour on synto before my epidural last time.
Any positive stories to keep my head in the right place?
