"Horror stories" of pregnancy, birth and after.

This is a tough one because ideally I'd like to avoid the horror stories too but I know that sometimes when trying to get a full picture of a situation you have to read the horror stories.
With that said there is a big difference between reading what someone has put out there, e.g. their birth experience, and being told things to deliberarely scare you!
Some of you probably saw my post about what a doctor said to us to scare us into having an ECV and that was not okay! It's still something that plays on my mind. But I can see the benefits to sharing your birth for people going through a similiar situation or for those who actually do want to read it.
It's quite easy to just not read something!

I do think there is a difference between sarcasm/scaring and sharing helpful information :)

My 1st was an epic traumatic birth but my 2nd was an amazing home birth with transfer (still fantastic!). I have told my 39 weeks pregnant neighbour all the details of my wonderful one but not the 1st. I just told her if it wasn't a good experience and if she struggles with nursing, to just give me a ring and I would totally understand and be available to talk about it :)

Here, it's a bit different. It's an internet forum with topic heads and you kind of know what you are getting into. It's not necessarily unsolicited information, right? Just imo...

And I wouldn't have had that wonderful natural 2nd one if I didn't really take to heart the advice of women here who had all that great information. I was booked for an elective c-section. I'm SO glad I listened to them the 2nd time.
