Hospital Visit

Hey there! I am new to this forum and appreciate the chance to be a part of it. I got a positive pregnancy test last week. According to my last period I should be 8 weeks. I had some bleeding last night and made a trip to the ER. After a transvaginal U/S and a BETA test my dates are not matching up!

MY HCG levels are at 14,843 but my U/S is only showing a gestational sac which would put me at 3 weeks. ( I am positive that I am further then 3 weeks) My periods are pretty normal and we were charting and taking my temp while TTC.

My ER discharge papers say "fetal growth has ceased" but I am to go back to my OB tomorrow and have my BETAs tested again.

Has anyone else been through this or heard of this?

I am worried that the ER just didn't want to deal with telling me and that they were leaving that for my OB.

I am confused because 14,843 is REALLY high for three weeks, and the U/S was very clearly just a sac. If I was 8 weeks, there would definitely be something other then just a sac

I would not speculate right now, I would wait until you get your betas redrawn. GL and hope all turns well.

I went back to my OB yesterday. We have a yolk sac and a fetal pole! I go back next week for another U/S just to confirm! But I am so exited now.

They are estimating me at 5 weeks. What I thought was implantation bleeding must have been an actual period. So that makes me due around May 21st, 2012.

I wish I would have stayed home from the ER now! My OB gave me so much hope when the nurses and doctor were so quick to diagnose me as a blighted ovum. My OB said that there is always a chance until the embryo is seen but that she was very positive about the success chances.
