hot can coca-cola helps morning sickness?

It may work?!

Funny thing is I went off diet coke early in first tri and still can't imagine drinking it! Imagine it was the miracle cure all along...

Nothing helped me with morning sickness first time round, but with this pregnancy it's been much more controllable through diet and staying away from certain foods (and smells!)

With my second pregnancy, fizzy drinks were definitely on the list of things that didn't made me sick, whereas water was a real struggle to keep down. It's going to vary from person to person, pregnancy to pregnancy. If there's nothing you can keep down except coke, then it's better than drinking nothing.

I don't think it's ever as simple as a 'magic cure' for morning sickness. Like the thing of eating a biscuit before getting up can stop you being sick - with my first, all that meant was that 10 mins later I was throwing up a biscuit! This time, however, eating before I stood up was really helpful. No hard and fast rule, unfortunately!

I found lemonade helped , I'm guessing something to do with the sugar and bubbles? x

:) thnx I dnt throw up but ill get so nauseous through the day

Give it a try and see if it works for you. None of the 'old wives tale' cures worked for me I was just sick no matter what. The only exception was ready salted crisps, I never threw them up. Also in 2 tri my sickness has been better down to only once or twice a day and I've found that eating toast with butter in the morning seems to settle me, although it didn't help in the first tri.

I think you best bet is to just listen to what your body tells you, I don't think there is really a rhym or reason when it comes to MS.

Hope your feeling better soon :) x

In a way I think that you ladies who just have the nausea have it worse, at least when I'm sick I get an hour or two of relief before the nausea starts to build up again.

Hope you fin something that helps you :)

Yup Ive thrown up biscuits too lol

Puking doesn't make me feel any better, I feel ill again 5 minutes later, so I'd much rather have just had nausea. Throwing up all the time takes it out of you.

It defiantly does take it out of you, there were days when I could only keep down a couple of biscuits if I was lucky. Just shows you how much we actually need food for energy.

How many weeks are you? I'm 16 tomorrow and it has started easing up last few days so hopefully you will get some relief soon :)

I know heated up coca-cola stops you throwing up with a hang-over, so maybe!
it's something to do with neutralising your stomach acids I think, though I can't remember as it was about 7 years ago someone told me about this and I tried it. It feels like it's been that long since I've HAD a hangover in fact!!

Never heard of drinking it hot, but cola syrup sipped over ice has long been a home remedy for all forms of nausea. Sometimes a few sips will help settle my MS, but ginger ale works better for me than coke.

I'm 14, just threw up my breakfast :)

Fashionqueen - You have my absolute sympathy! I don't know about you but I find if breakfast doesn't stay down I'm in for a bad day.

I've had a sick free day yesterday when I hit 16 weeks, maybe its a sign but I'm not getting my hopes up yet.

Fingers crossed you don't have much more sickness left! X :hugs:

I get about 30min relief after puking lol. Ate a banana, threw it up, ate a rice cake a couple of hours earlier, threw that up, too. Sipped half a glass of water, just threw that up. I really don't seem to be able to hold anything down. The only thing I haven't thrown up today or yesterday is scrambled eggs, so maybe I'll live on them. Glad I just threw up, though; have two music students in half an hour and was green about the gills. I actually feel like I can face them now.

Banana's are such a no go for me, make me sick without fail

It's horrible when you get days like that and just nothing will stay down :(

Have you tried ready salted crisps don't know why but I can always keep them down. Then again my SIL swears by Ham on toast when shes pregnant and it didn't work for me I think its each to their own.

Hopefully we will be the other side of MS before we know it :winkwink:

Oh yes thrown up lots of bananas.

I find if I threw up my breakfast it means a bad day too. After a couple of weeks of my vomiting decreasing, Thursday I puked 8 times! Completely wiped me out. Only threw up once yesterday though so I'm hoping it was just a blip.

I don't really find there is any food in particular that helps, on a bad day sips of water will come back up its like my body is determined to reject everything. Sometimes including the anti sickness tablets I have!

Not tried it but I suppose it becomes less fizzy but is still sweet. I felt sick whenever I needed a snack (low blood sugar probably) so it would have worked for me but fruit worked for me too.
