Hi Ladies,

do you know if its safe to use a hot water bottle on your back? I'm 26 week + 5 days and my back ache is getting worse, i've asked my midwife but she hasn't got back to me yet

Thanks x

It should be fine in moderation. I did it a bit with my daughter as I had a lot of lower back pain. 10-15 minutes here and there. It certainly won't warm your body up much more than a hot shower, and I kinda treated it like that. I wouldn't stay in the shower for 2 hours, so I didn't have it on that long, but I felt that 15 minutes or so was fine once a day or so.

Thanks i will give it a try see if it help ease my back pain any

I used one with my son but I just made it so that it wasn't too, too hot. I filled it maybe 2/3 with boiling water from the kettle and then topped it up with cold. Made me feel more relaxed about using it but still provided a lot of warmth.

It will be fine as long as it's not too hot x

It'll be fine for short periods and not too hot chick, hope it eases your back pain.
