Are hot water pouches safe?

My back suddenly started hurting a lot and while I plan to see a physiotherapist later I need something to help for now. I recognize the pain as what I used to get from my prolapsed disc. Must have been irritated by bouncing on the ball...

I don't know for sure. I would probably just make sure it's warm and not really hot. Maybe like the same as a warm bath because if you can take a warm bath, you could probably have a pouch on you that is that same temperature.

I know heat pads are ok, so I don't see why a hot water pouch wouldn't be. As long as you aren't increasing your (and baby's) body temperature, some targeted heat is safe. I wouldn't heat it to scorching hot or anything, but I doubt that would be comfortable anyway.

My chiro told me that 10 minutes with a hot water bottle is fine. Feel better!

^^ WSS - only my OBGYN told me 20 min was fine and if I wanted to go longer I should just take my temperature every 5-10 min after that to make sure my body was still able to regulate to "normal" temp
:hugs: hope your back feels better soon!
