so the hb went into oh account this morning.. i logged onto online banking to check it was there as it was first time we have had a direct payment usually a cheque..

and it was almost double the normal amount!! :happydance::happydance:

they usually pay about a third of our rent.. which is really good considering i still get maternity allowance and oh works full time (although is in a low paid job :( )

i rang them up to check it was right and its because they have made a extra back payment for the two weeks oh was on paternity leave :happydance: for tht two weeks they paid almost the full rent!!

we was lucky as we didnt claim HB untill luisa was born it just so happened tht two of the payslips out of the five we had to produce were for his pat fortnight..

and then the postman came and we got a reduction for council tax for tht 2 weeks too!!!

so wanted to share but also to say if you do get HB/CTB at the moment make sure they know your oh income has gone down if he goes on pat leave!!!

xxxxxx

What great news!!

I dont work but get incapcity benefit, hubby works, and brings home about £200 a week, which is crap for full time. Our rent is £435, do u think we might qualify for HB/CT help?
We get WTC & CTC, but always thought we got too much for any help. ?

i thought tht too,.. in fact the online calculator said we would only get £7 per week and we actually get £75!
my oh works a 48 hour week for £225 take home :(
but our rent is £695 (within the housing limits for the area)

always worth a shot!

we dont get ctb only for those 19 days :)
