Just looking for some advice really, does anyone know whether we'd be entitled to Housing benefit/LHA when LO here if OH earns just under £17k a year, our rent is £450 a month.
Any help would be so appreciated!
Thanks xxxxxx

Have the local council hot am online calculator to see if you can get any help?
We are not entitled to anything apparently. We have 3 kids which two.are in childcare at the minute costing us £207 a week. My wage is £126 a week and my oh earns 16k a year so my wage doesnt even cover childcare yet we arnt entitled to HB. Its all confussing to me. Id be better off not working!
Tax creds do help us but we are still left with a huge shortfall each month.
Our rent is £475 so not much different to yours.
Id just fill out one of their forms and see of you can get help :) x

My OH earns about £12,000 a year and if I don't return to work we aren't entitled to claim housing benefit but I don't know if it depends on the area you live in. On the directgov benefits calculator, it said when I was pregnant that when my baby was born we would be able to claim but now it says we aren't. I don't think them benefit calculators are very good t#hough so it might be worth filling in the form anyway, worth a try :)

Unfortunatelly if yout or ypur partner work 38 hours or more you will not be entitled to HB. Going by his salary I imagine he works that no of hours. But it's still.worth a.try, all they can do is say no.
