housing benefit

im currently living 'somewhere' where im claiming housing benefit and i only have to pay £15. now im moving in to my own house monday morning but as im on benefits and dont have anything but the clothes on my back, i have to wait for a cummunity care grant to come through so i can buy everything, you know the basics.

but im stil waiting for that to come through. so like i have to live hear proberbly about a week or 2 longer after i sign my tenacy agreement for my new place monday.

so my question is, what do i do about housing benefit?

cause if i dont claim it from when my tenancy starts i will be in debt as i simply cant afford to pay £80 a week just on rent, but if i do claim it it will stop paying it here so il have to move out in to a house that hasnt even got TOILET PAPER!!

is there anyway i can claim for both :S

When me and my hubby moved i had just had a section and no one to helpe so we asked for an extention thing (cant rememebr exactly) but they let us have 2 weeks to move out by because they couldnt pay houseing benifit on 2 propertys.... i hope you can figure something out i would def ring them or go and speak to them...x

There are certain circumstances where rent can get paid on 2 houses BUT they are very very strict on it & the fact that dates dont run on smoothly i don't think is a good enough excuse in their eyes, So its likely you will have to pay 2 wks rent on the place you currently live in tbh hun, Or why not ring them & just explain the situ but offer a payment scheme? x
