I have 10 days until due date and finding it really hard to keep my mind off just wanting baby here NOW :growlmad: It feels as though she is never going to come now :nope: after loads of false alarms. Does anyone have a good way to take mind off of labour or to make time pass quicker ? I think I am going to go mad if I don't think of something cause 10 days is feeling like 10 years atm!

I will try anything to take my mind off of it, so please, any suggestions are welcome

i wish i could help. I stil have 8 weeks to go and sit here twiddling my fingers. So bored :( Over it :( Want my baby now :( lol :hugs:

Thanks anyway, i was exactly the same as you at that stage! I'm surprised i made it to this point without going completely mad!!! x

I dont know, Im 6 days overdue now and I couldnt be more relaxed! I just sort of accepted after he didnt arrive soon after 37 weeks (Id been on bedrest til then and wed expected baby to be here 24-48 hours after getting up) that I would be going at least 9 days overdue and I guess Im just not really expecting him til then!

Think it helps to just trust that your body and your baby knows when things are ready, you wont go into labour til baby is fully cooked and you definitely want a fully cooked baby :) Enjoy watching the birth programmes on TV til then!
I actually spend quite a bit of time going over how Id like labour to go, which is difficult because pretty much nothing has gone how I expected/wanted this pregnancy (certainly didnt WANT to spend hours throwing up!!) but I believe in the power of positive thinking, negativity gets you nowhere other than depressed so I literally sit here for hours thinking about where I want to be, how I want to position, where I imagine the midwife will be, my breathing, what my OH will be doing.....basically I want to let my body do what it needs to do without thinking about it so I imagine it going smoothly a dozen times a day :) That does actually take up a lot of time!!!
Glad I started knitting again too, thats something that keeps the hands busy but leaves the mind free to wander seeing as my concentration levels are pretty crap. Have you got something like that you can do? Cross stitch, knitting, art, writing?

I'm due on sunday and I'm actually crossing my fingers (and legs hehe) that nothing starts before then because I have a cold I HAVE to get rid of before I go into labour. However, it's not working out as I planned because it feels like something may be happening :growlmad: I'm currently having frequent period-like cramps and I could swear I'm actually dilated a little  Hopefully it'll be nothing but the time seems to be zipping by right now. I have been keeping myself busy round the house a little and there's always this place  I have a hair appointment booked for tomorrow and I expect to be there for a good few hours, hopefully!! If I start before I make it to that appointment I'm gonna be well narked lol xx

Not really hun, i wish i did. Not really the creative type! I have been feeling great but now my house is actually gleaming from top to bottom, I have washed and ironed everything I can find (even started ironing stuff that was slightly creased in my ds's drawers), I have just about every day with something booked between now and due date but today I have nothing. Was up at 3am, done everything I was going to do today by 5, had a bath, breakfast, got ds ready for school and packed off at 8.45 and now I am so bored. I actually thought this morning that I wish I was still working! The last thing to do in house is wash hall carpet but oh has warned me not to attemp this and leave it to him for the weekend. As its not even 10am I think I might give it a shot!
I know lo will come when she's ready but I am so impatient!!! xxx

Mw told me to do this - make loads of appointments (ie, hair, nails etc) and will probably go into labour before I get there and if not, well I'll have fun being pampered before lo arrives! x

Been trying to fit that in where possible :happydance:. Thing is he works from 5.30am to 7pm and is usually too tired at night :nope:. I have no niggles at all atm so don't think she's planning to make an appearance any time soon.

I'm bored too........so bored in fact that my mum arranged for my grandma to come and visit for a week so I wouldn't be in the house by myself all day. And now she is driving me absolutely insane :) :haha: Keeps telling me that the baby is coming any day now (which I pretty much know she isnt...)

Ahhhhh things to do....make loads of plans!! That way, you'll do things, get tired, sleep, do more things, get more tired, sleep more....and hopefully the days will fly by.

I've been knitting like a loon! I have blankets, hats, cardis etc!

I've even made stuff for when the wee fella is a year old and a pair I'd socks for hubby!

It's cheap, you can learn online, and it's brill for keeping the swelling out of your hands and wrists.

I'm also arranging to have visitors every day or two, looking forward to cancelling someone!

I have been up to the following:
- doing quite a few online photobooks (from various holidays) using photobox.
- swimming (ok, today will be the first time since last Thursday/Friday  )
- prenatal yoga
- meeting firends for coffee and cake
- keeping uptodate with emails and on here :winkwink:
- making sure I pop out for a daily walk to the high street (for a bit of exercise).
- I did tidy up my laptop desktop and email inbox (a friend called it "virtual nesting"... :haha: ).
- hope to go out to the cinema tonight or tomorrow night.
- planning a few meals out over the weekend (due tohave a C Section on Monday).

Generalyl just "tying up loose ends" and "staying on top of things...

This week is actually going past PRETTY quickly!

What a good question! I'm 33 weeks now, and have been on bed rest since 31 weeks, I can't even walk on stairs, just staying home, looking what's going on with the world from the house windows. I paced to and fro in our house, sit, lie down, stand-up. I'm just so grateful with the Internet, TV, and books! My doctor says at least I can reach 35 to 36 weeks, we can risk pre-term labor but for now if I dont want to drink Rhitodrine I must rest to avoid more than normal contractions and premature baby. Ahhhh Story of my life!!!

I have to laugh - your list is just like mine but i'm running out of things and fast! I swim every second day but that only fills an 3 hours of the week! I really fancy the cinema but got to the stage now where i'm terrified of going into labour during the film! Either that or being uncomfortable for hours! Booked all my friends up for coffee and cake (minus the coffee). I really envy you having a date for going in (maybe don't envy the c section bit though), at least you have a date to work to. Just now I am thinking it could be anything from now to about 14th Feb (if i go 2 weeks over)! I can't possibly keep myself amused till then! If i sit on internet all day i feel rubbish because the end of the day comes and i feel like i've done nothing! Daytime tv would drive you to drink! Can't wait till weekend now cause ds keeps me busy until monday morning when he goes back to school. Think i just totally depressed myself thinking that i would go early and now it seems like she's quite happy to stay put for as long as possible. Mw did say that they probably wouldn't let me go past my due date as i have measured the same for past 3 weeks so she'd probably do more growing on the outside! Given up on the natural induction though as nothing seems to work and they'll come out when they're ready! Lets just hope something happens soon. x

I remember the boredom well, I had 5 weeks on my last pregnancy, but then some nights after bubs was here, I sat and daydreamed back to those boring days, being able to sit for more than 2 mins :haha:

Its hard, but try and enjoy & chill as once you have ur bubs, those days are long gone...

p.s., if ur a Greys Anatomy fan, its starting again tonight, thats gonna cure an hour of my boredom :)

Can you go out? Meet friends for coffee and a chat? Or get them to come and see you?

I have been keeping myself busy with trying to visit people and them come to me but to be honest as impatient as I am and as much as I want bub here I am also trying to enjoy the odd thing here and there which I know wont be easy when bub comes.

What about going swimming for an hour or so and grabbing some lunch - enjoying chill time while you can, of course, you are ready and you know you are but relishing the last little bit of alone time is important. I do understand the boredom though - if im not doing something then all I can think about is going into labour, so most of the time I get out the house! I've got a 5 yr old at school - so she keeps me busy after school and weekends but when shes not here in the day it gets a bit lonely - oh works long hours so if im not occupied im thinking about birth - do anything you can to take your mind off of it. Go watch a film? Browse the shops etc... anything! Im always worse when I stay in!

Dont know if my ramblings are any help lol - Im just symapthising! I went 12 days over with my first - went stir crazy! xx
