I wish they did a bigger teat than number 3's!

Louie is getting tired drinking from 3's but its comfort milk, so its thicker.

Anyway, He's been taking 5oz now for about 6-7 weeks. SOMETIMES he'll demand more, but not very often at all. Most the time now he wont go more than 3 hours for a feed in the day BUT I have to force feed him to take 5oz and re-warm the bottle as it goes cold and he hates cold milk.

He will only take 4 oz in the night too and still waking every 3-4 hours. Sometimes (rarely) he'll go 5 hours, like last night he slept from 9 until nearly 3am!

I'm so desperate for him to start going through the night. Its getting me down a bit. I'm certain if he starts taking more in the day, he will do.

7 weeks seems a long time to still be on 5oz? :coffee:

what bottles do u use?
i know the tommee tippee bottles have a variflow teat which means lo can suck as fast as he likes. i have a couple of those and the milk comes out faster than the size 3 teats.

your lo is still very young though my lo only started sttn after 3 months. it gets easier xx

We use Dr Browns!

I've filled 2 evening bottles up to 6oz and we'll see how he does! I'm going to make sure he goes at least 4 hours between each feed. I'll distract him.

What bottles are you using? Have you tried a vari-flow teat? As long as he is satisfied with his 5oz and gaining weight then its the right amount for him. He is still pretty young to be sttn, and a more usual time for this to happen is 4-6 months. I dont think the answer is trying to get him to take more milk than he wants at each feed. You said last night he did a 6 hour stretch? Maybe this is a sign that he may start to have 1 long stretch of sleep during the night on a regular basis soon. Have you tried a dream feed between 10-11pm? This may help him sleep through to 5-6am, but its not for certain. I dont think you will find many babies at his age who do 8-12 hour stretches at night. xxx

We're using Dr Browns.

Thanks for the advice
