How can we compromise/agree??? Grrrr!!

DH and I have hit a wall...

We have wittled down our names list and have agreed on either Noah or Rowan for the first name - and we will choose which one when he's here - fine....

Middle name is causing a problem though...

I'd like to use Edward - that's my Dad's middle name and my family have always been supportive of me, DH and DS1.

DH does not want to use Edward.

DH wants to use Ernest after his Grandad but I really DO NOT.

I have only ever met his Grandad once and the rest of DH's family a handful of times, they have been unsupportive, make no effort to see us or contact us and haven't wanted to be involved in the pregnancy or immenent arrival of their new grandson - so why on earth would I want to use a name from his family.....

I dont think we can use both as middle names as we have a double barrelled surname and I think its probably a bit too much.

Do you think that I am being unreasonable and stubborn??

Does anyone have any suggestions for how we could resolve this?

Thanks Girls :flower:

If your really dont like it, don't use it.
Maybe steer away from family names and choose a seperate one together?

If you don't like it, don't use it. The name has to be something both you and your dh agrees on. If one of you don't like the name, then don't consider it. IMO

As the other posters- I agree you should choose another name that you both agree on with no family significance.

Maybe you could match one middle name with each first name... & then when you meet the baby & decide which first name he looks like... then he'll get the middle name that also goes along with it....

Example:

Noah Ernest
Rowan Edward

Or... you could just use the initial "E" to signify both E names...

Example:

Noah Evan

Or... as the other posters said... just pick a different middle name all together, one that isn't in honor of anyone in particular...
