sorry guys i just cant help but get impatient lol

how can you tell if bubs is starting to engage?

Ive been to midwife today and been told head is engaged and very low but i dont feel any different at all x

i am wondering this too. or if there is a way to tell without having an internal??? i did find out at the dr yesterday that my placenta is in the back rather than the front of the baby. whatever that means. the dr said that's why it feels like the baby really is going to stick his foot out of my belly and it literally hurts. i know my boy has been head down because i can make out exactly where his bum is and again see his limbs. it's so alien like. lol

I believe this is when you start to walk like you have shit yourself!

I have started to feel like I am walking this way! And I can def confirm there is no poop in my pants!

I am seeing my mw tomorrow so I am hoping to find out if LO is starting to engage or not.

1st pregnancy i got the waddle
sharp shooting pains in my groin
my pelvis started cracking & clicking.

2nd i just knew as i had SPD.

ive started to waddle but not actually had many low down pains - couple of shooting pains down low but not regular or nothing :(

i have been wondering the same... i have been getting sharp electric like shocks in my private, does that mean baby is engaging??

I THINK your bump changes shape maybe and you get like a ski-slope between boobs and bump? I am pretty sure mine has engaged as I can feel moving like IN my fanjita! Plus less pressure on ribs and lungs..
Will see if midwife confirms next week
However, my son engaged pretty early and then 'disengaged' if that is a word at like 37 weeks and landed up going 42 plus 2 after being induced to get the monkey out!!!

 and i never come across anyone who also uses fanjita until now! yay!

You have a post from AnnaM in your siggi-I think I picked it up from her in the November Sparklers thread and well it made me laugh so hard so it has just stuck and pretty much become a part of my everyday vocab. I use it whenever I can now. HAHAHAHAHA..
Where in Kent do you live Wriggley? I'm also in the Garden of England :)

I think you can tell by how much pressure you have down below and how much your walking is affected. (if I remember rightly from last time!) Second babies often don't engage until labour and mine was 'Free' at last antenatal at 36wks. The last 2 days I've been getting awful shooting pains in my lady bits that make me cry out, so I wonder if that means bubs is making his way down???

this is my first baby and i just knew... i had shooting shock type pains up my cervix... it felt like a graprefruit was stuck between my legs i couldnt put my legs together and my bump looked droopey lol... plus i waddled when i walked and after a good 10mins standing up walking about it feels like summits nuzzling your cervix... plus you pee ALL the time :( xx

It was impossible for me to tell. My bump was always low and I never felt more pressure down below or had any change to my walk. I was shocked when the midwife did a check and told me he was fully engaged.

I just got back from the doc and I have been feeling a lot of pressure down below and his head was very low in my pelvis but I have been aware of pretty much every position baby has been in since 28 weeks, but I do waddle like I am about to go on myself.

Hah no way, this is interesting! I've had shooting pains that actually felt like my cervix was being prized open (ouch!!) and I've developed a bit of a waddle despite having just a little bump! I've also notices that the bottom of my bump feels totally different to normal! Wonder if my girl is engaged!

I'm 33+4 now
