some people on here be told 2years ect for overnights and two lawyers have told me if it gose to court he would be granted overnights??:wacko:

I've also been told it will be a long way off for overnights. I personally don't think any judge would agree to a 9month old going for overnights. If your really not happy about it put ur foot down. I've been told by loads of people that have been through the same thing to stick to ur guns as ur the mother and u know best, don't let ur lawyer push u around. I've also been told that family courts hate solicitors and they actually listen to u more if u don't have 1. I don't know ur situation/how often FOB has your little boy etc.. but If ur not comfortable with overnights yet then refuse. my FOB has never had regular contact with Lily or unsupervised contact so his a long way off proving fit enough for overnights. x

Also it takes ages to sort out court etc, so your little boy will be well over a year b4 it even gets to the court! Seriously if u don't feel comfortable with it.. don't let him go yet. 9months is very young and confusing for a baby! I think its so unfair that they have to be dragged from their mother when they can't understand anything! xx

true. they also told me it cold take little up to a week to go to court... i don't mind him getting 2overnights a month on a trial run. anything goes wrong ect that will be it. contact center only.though if fob is smart enough he will realise hes actaully missing out on days because he has more time with lo now than he would if he gets overnights xx

It seems awful :nope: There's no way I'd ever agree to FOB having Connor over night for a few years... It just seems so so wrong. If I were you, I'd see another solicitor and put your foot down hun x

Hi hun

Just made a comment about your overnight access comment on another thread then saw this.

I don't understand how you've been told he will be granted access. My solicitor said no overnights for a long time, I asked how long that was and she said 3 but more likely 4 and FOB would have to have proved he has built a relationship with LO first.

What is the situation with your FOB? Were you together throughout pregnancy? Has he always been involved? When did he start having unsupervised access? and who instigated this? Court? joint decision?

I'm just wondering if your solicitor is just saying that in the hope you two will make your own arrangements.....I just can't understand why or how he would get this granted?x

we split when i was four months pregnant then he started seeing aiden sometimes.. but im march he got 2 hours on a sunday on his own then he went through lawyers and bascially bulllied me so i gave him 3days thrusday, sat and sun 10-5 but its going through court because he wants LO every thrusday and friday6 untill sunday6 and i said no and he wants LO for a hoilday 10days... yeah right. but i have to see my lawyer monday xx

Hun, you really need to be stronger and stand up for yourself. If you go in there and just back down the court will think you are ok with this and think it's the best for your LO. You have to fight him if you don't agree with his demands. Play dirty! x

I think it depends on the judge...I'm in the US but from the time we went to court and when the final order was entered it was about a year but he was granted overnights at the court appearance...if the child isnt in danger the court will NOT deny a father visitation atleast not here
