Madelyn?

How many children/people do you know with this name? I see it is rather high up on the baby names list and I don't want my child going to school with 10 other kids who have the same name ... so was just wondering.

I dont know about the US , Im in the UK and I have a Madeleine 'Maddie', I dont know of any other Madeleine's (apart from my nan :winkwink:), I know a quite few Maddie's who's full name is Maddison. xx

My LO is Madelyn and i love it. I don't know any other Madelyn's and everyone keeps saying how unusual it is. Madelyn/Madeline wasn't in the top 100 girl names in 2009 for the UK as far as I am aware so not common here, not sure about USA though

Ok thanks ladies. I don't know any either which is why I was kind of curious lol.

I only know one little girl named Madelyn... but lots of Madisons! I love the name Madelyn!

I know of none, same as other people a few Maddie's who are Maddison but no Madelyn's. Lovely name :)

I think the name Madeline is more common in the UK - in the US Maddison.

I really like Madeline or Madleyn:flower:

I am a teacher and have only taught 3 Madelines in my 14 year career. I really like the name and it is quite high on our possible list

Hi
I am in the UK and am a teacher, Maddie/Madeleine etc is very popular, there is at least 1 in each year group at the moment.
x

LOVE Madelyn, I'd like it to be a middle name if I had a girl
I don't know any Madelyn's, only a Madison

I love the name but it seems here in the midwest it's super popular. In the town my parents live in, several of their neighbors have little girls named Madelyn, Madison, or Madeline. I also work with two people who have little girls named Maddie (one is a Madelyn and the other is a Madison). It's a very pretty name though!

I love it to but was having similar issues about it being too common. I still think it is very popular but I cant help but like it still! Maybe Maddison is less common in the U.K so if we went down that road maybe that instead.

I have a 2nd cousin named Madeline. My son's daycare has 1 or 2 Madelines. I think it is an up and coming popular name but it's not at the top yet.

I think it is cute and do not know of any myself.

I'm a primary teacher too and we have one Maddie/Maddy in each year group (that's 1 out of 80 or so).
Some are Madeleine, some are Matilda, some just Maddy / Maddie. All get shortened to Maddy/Maddie.

I loved the name for this baby, but my husband wont allow me as he says it will remind him too much of madeline mccann the little girl who was snatched whilst on holiday. Not sure how common it is in the US, but i've heard of quite a few in the UK.
