just wondered if everyone just went with the closest, best reputation, facilities, previous experience, or type of birth wanted.

there is really only one hosp in the area and the stats look ok for it. it has a birth centre attached which is separate but linked to the hosp so hopefully i will start in there and only go into hosp if there are any problems. keep thinking i should have looked into my options more, but i kind of get the impression it just all depends on how busy they are and whether you get the grumpy midwife on duty or the happy helpful one!

I chose mine cause it's next to CHOC (the best childrens and baby hospital) My doctor told me if I chose the hospital next to it, if for any reason there was a complication I would never have to be seperated from my baby. CHOC is the best so if i were at any other hospital my baby would be flown there without me. Not worried so much about complications but I did like the peace of mind knowing we would never be seperated :)

Ive only got one hospital where i live on an island, so i didnt have any choice! but its a lovely little hospital x

Where r u from butterfly?? Isle of man?? I chose Queen Charlottes because of its facilities, they are meant to be the best in the U.K and I live in the local area so it was one of my options.

i didnt have much choice, we dont have a birth centre so chose closest hospital, had my daughter there and they were fine, although i was home same day as i had her so didnt really get much chance to complain lol!x

I am having our baby at the hospital that knows me. I have had several not so good prgnancies and my hospital is not the closest to me but they all know my history and i know i would be in good hands there. Can't wait now though and the weeks are dragging :(

There are plenty of hospitals in San diego to choose from, but you have to get one in the same insurance group as your doctor, its complicated!

Went to the same one with dd, and it has an amazing NICU, also the rooms and the service were 5 star, which is what you need if stuck there:haha: Seriously though, I got 5 meals a day and my own nurse, hubby also got to stay overnight:happydance:
