How did you find out and how you tell your OH?

Ok, I'm bored and although I should be thinking about stripping the paper in the nursery I've some how ended up on here instead (isn't it funny how that happens when you've got stuff to do ).

Anyway, I'm being nosey and I'm curious how you ladies found out yourself and how you told the daddy you were preggers. I'd heard all these elaborate ways that people have done it in the past, like tieing the positive test to a 'Congratulations' balloon and leaving it on the bed for OH to find etc, and thought 'Oooo... thats a good idea', but when it came down to it all that when out the window cause I was too excited

So... for me it was 8 DPO, in the morning as I was getting ready for work and we'd been trying for 7 months. I'd read on the internet the night before about how you could use OPK tests to test for pregnancy and in the morning thought 'what the hell' and pee'd on a spare clearblue monitor stick.... which to my suprise came up as a REALLY strong positive... 'weird' I thought... and put it out of my mind... for about 30 seconds, before deciding I'd do a digital, which stunned me by coming out positive . By this time my OH was yelling at me to get out of the bathroom because we were going to be late for work, and I just ran down stairs and showed him the test. I think all we both said was 'Oh my god...' and hugged... probably would have cried if it hadn't have ruined my makeup

we'd been trying about 3 months... and decided if it wasnt this month we'd wait, till after x mas...

we went shopping and i was due on the next day, but i had extra sore boobs and funny tummy flutters and i thought. ahhh AF due...!!! he picked up a test and said shall we try? i already knew i was coming on , so told him it wasnt worth it. he put it in the basket ne way.

2 days later i still hadn't come on and i thought AF due anyday.. so that morning he woke me up kissing me, saying "baby go do a test" so i went and did one, and it came up positive STRAIGHT AWAY!!! i just sat on the loo thinking omg! we did it, and hes out side saying baby whats going on?! so i went out with my test stick and gave him it, we both laid in bed cuddling and kissing. then called in sick to work and went about telling our family!! lol x

I bought the cheapest test you could find, it was a dunk in a pot of pee type, so I basically filled the pot and went back to bed. So technically he told me I was pregnant because he did the test, though to be honest I was getting up at 5am to pee so no surprise there

I did a test 2days b4 i was due on and it came up with a very faint line so i just showed him as i wasnt sure and he was like 'youre pregnant' And was very happy

I hadnt been feeling right for a few weeks and was just getting over a horrible chest infection but i couldnt shake it, which aint like me! I also bought the cheapest test going it was bout 80p, just on the off chance that been pregnant was what was making me feel so rubbish! I had had a shower and was busy drying my hair when i remembered i had got the test so i wee'd in a pot, dunked in the stick and left it on the side, totally unconvinced that i would be pregnant! Carried on doing hair, putting on moisturiser and then suddenly remembered i had done the test...looked at it and there was a massive big fat dark positive!!!!!!! I thought i was going to faint i went so hot and sweaty and was shaking like a leaf!! Went out into kitchen and said "im pregnant" partner grabbed test an instructions and looked at the both and went "oh god you are....wow...nice one" had a kiss and cuddle and had to go to bed as we were both working! Lay there in bed and every so often he went "i'm never gonna sleep now" and we were both giggling!!!!! It was lovely but a massive massive shock!!!

I was due to phone the hospital for the latest test results, and decided to do a test 'just in case', and as I was watching it, my parents walked in downstairs. I shouted to them that I'd be down in a second, and went to wash my hands, and just glanced at the test and saw 2 lines! I couldn't tell my parents before I had told DH, but I HAD to tell someone. So I took a photo on my phone and texted it to Wobbles!! So she knew first!

Then I had to sit downstairs with my parents and not say anything. Then I went to a leaving lunch at work and had to sit with all my work colleagues and not say anything! It was killing me!!

I decided to clean the oven to pass the time. DH came in as I was up to my arms in grease!! He asked me if I had phoned the hospital yet. I told him I'd not had a chance yet. He told me to hurry up! So I finished the oven. He then said "ring the hospital!". I said I'd do it in a minute, and he just kept bugging me!! I then said I just needed to do something upstairs, and went and fetched the test. I came down and said that I would phone the hospital now, got the test out from behind my back, stuck it in front of his face and said "or maybe I won't"!!!!!! DH just stared at the test and said in a really high-pitched voice... "you're pregnant? Really?"!!

I then phoned the hospital and the infertility specialist already knew because my progesterone results from the week before had been sky high!!

My OH knew when i didn't phone him at work once going to the doctors that I was preggo... so when he got home from work i was hiding under the bed covers and left the tests i's done on the bed with all the stuff given to me at the doctors... He was over the moon and now he can't wait to meet our little man

we'd been trying for months and i was 2 days late for my period and we were going to wait a few days before testing incase i was just late... but i couldnt wait any longer so i did a test in work and was positive and then rung my OH while he was in work!! should of waited till i got home really but we did another test when we were both home!!

I had to ring tesco while they where picking my shopping and ask a member of staff to put a pregnancy test in my shopping and the lovely girl done it even thogh it was in a van she went out of her way to get all my details and do it. it was the cheapest one there.

I told mine when I was in tears! We where not planning it and I had a suspicion as all my mates had their periods and i was always before them to come on only I didnt. We knew it could happen we knew what we where at but it was a shock anyway. In a way we had unprotected sex for 5 months then it happened. for some reason I thought I was infertile as with an ex preiovus to him i had been with for years we never got pregnant which was thankful and it wasnt him or me as he has kids now.

I told him he paniced and went out for a while i understood as it was a shock only i was petrified and crying as i didnt know what the hell was happening to my body as i was already ill by that stage and it was a wake up call. He came back after talking to his mates totally chaged, he was happy and even bought himself a drink to celebrate. After that he was great and still is about it. And we are both looking forward to this.

Well im not a morning person, i dont function properly in the morning, but this one day i had to go to town to pay some bills and for some reason i really wanted a fry up, i thought this was odd as i never eat in the morning, so i went and got me a nice fry up and it was delish!!! then i went and bought a preg test, i dident expect anything from it, but was i shocked when it came up posative, so i did the other 2 tests that was in the box and they was posative too, so just to be sure i went and bought a different brand from the chemist and that too came up posative.
I kind of spent the rest of the day on another planet.
When the OH came home, i was just quiet all night, i dident know how to tell him, then when we went to bed, i just blurted it out then went to sleep, lol.

I was 2 days late and had a netball match that evening so OH asked me to get a test during my lunch break.

I bought a clear blue digi test during my lunch and around 4pm I took the test at work, it came up 'Pregnant' i sat there in shock thinking oh my god for a little while, then i got my phone out an took a picture of the test and sent it to hubby as a picture message, who then in turn rang me saying Oh My God!!! After that I took 3 more tests and a further one a few days later just to make sure LOL!

Well my story is far from romantic lol. I was due on and felt odd so I used a pregnancy test that my housemate had left in bathroom when she moved out. Didn't look like it was doing anything and I was gonna be late for work so i threw it in my bag.

Got to work and took it out and there was a big fat positive. Text OH and explained, cuz we'd only just got back together after some problems. Went and bought another test which was deffo positive and he came and met me.

We then went home and cried...................and then laughed lol and have been so so happy waititng to be parents ever since!!!

My story is FARRRRRRRRRR from romantic!!

The night we had sex literally seconds after "finishing" a pregnancy test commercial came on in the background followed by a baby commercial. We just laughed and were like "hahaha its a sign". We weren't trying at all as I was on B.C

Well about 3 1/2 weeks later OH was hanging something in the computer room and I said to him "hmm wouldnt it be funny if I was pregnant" I just had this feeling. SOOO off we drove at 2am to Zellers because it's open 24/7. We bought 5 packs of pregnancy tests (thought wouldn't hurt to have them around the house if it came up negative, never know when you might need to test). Well I peed on the stick at 2:30am, within 15 seconds it came up bright positive. I came out and looked at it, was shaking, looked at OH and said UMMMMMMM...I'm pregnant! All he could say was "cool" lol. He kind of expected it and was preparing himself for it. He didn't want to get to excited tho because of a past miscarriage.

I went and did 2 more tests, thinking the 3 I had done were broken...well..after using every box and all positives we went to bed giggling in excitement and worriedness (if thats even a word lol) LOL (I really don't think either of us slept tho! lol)

i woke up for a wee and thought mmm maybe i should test, because we were leaving the day after to visit family i was just curious to know. thought i had a faint line, asked DH if he saw anything and he says "that little line there?" it was the first tiem i ever used internet cheapies so i sort of kept to myself and we both shrugged it off as not knowing for sure. i couldn't hold in any longer and bought a first response later that day and took it when DH came home for lunch. positive. we both were like 'oh...well...wow...hmmm!' haha and that was that. took us 6 months of trying!

We had just decided we would try for baby number two a month before at the end of May. The first week in June I had my iud removed, and the doctor told me we could try immeditaley but not to get worried if we didn't get positive results for a couple months. Anyways, i kept testing way too early, teasing myself and straining to see a second line every morning. Finally two days before my period was due i decided i wouldn't test until the day I was due, and Hubby made sure there were no tests in the house. Than the day I was due, (The 4th of July) we got up and when i pee'ed for the first time that morning and nothing yet and no feeling of cramps, hubby told me to get in the car we were going to pick up a test. At this point I didn't really think i would be, not the first month, and not after the negative tests i had, had. Anyways hubby bought some digitals, we got home, and while hubby played with our daughter in the living room i went and peed on both of them. They have a time limit so i brought them out to the living room sat them on the coffee table and tried not to look. After a couple minutes I looked down and both were big fat postives! I just looked up at hubby and he knew without me saying anything. We spent the day cuddling, crying, and just enjoying that special day! Sorry it was long, i love sharing stories!

We had only started trying that month and had both been so busy at work I thought there was no chance that I'd be pregnant. But a week before I was due on I started getting really weepy and crying over the most ridiculous things. I was in Boots 4 days before my AF was due and thought what the hell I'll buy a First Response and then I'll know it's not worked this month and move on. The next morning I needed to wee at about 6am so did the test fully expecting it to be negative and to my surprise saw this faint line appear. I was so shocked I woke DH up to get his opinion, he wasn't best pleased at being woken up at 6am on a saturday, so his first reaction was 'Jesus Christ I'm never going to get any sleep now!' after that he was very pleased, but as test was so faint we did another the next day. It came up faintly positive as well. I was scared to tell my family as my sister had only announced that week that she was pregnant and I was worried incase we'd made a mistake.
I saw the doctor the next day and got it confirmed and then told my parents, they nearly had a heart attack, they're going to have their first two grandchildren in the space of a couple of weeks!
