How did you tell your parents?

Hi i was just wondering what you girls told your parents when you found out you were pregnant?

Simple as that lol. I was scared but it felt so good to get it out in the open!!

I just sat my mum down and told her i had to tell her something, i felt like i might burst out laughing because i sounded so cliché and i was so scared as i was already 6 months pregnant and was only beginning to show, so i knew i had to tell her. I told her and she just asked me if i was ok, and what my boyfriend thought and she was overall really supportive, the only thing she was slightly upset about was that i'd waited so long to tell her. I thought she was going to hit the roof because she's really uptight and strict, and she told my dad, who at first didn't really talk about it but 2 days later he was taking me out and being really protective! I know it's scary, but pleasee don't hold it off any longer than you have to, once the initial shock is over the support and being able to talk to them about it openly is great! and you'll feel so much happier in yourself.

I don't live with my mom so I called her but she didn't answer so I left a message and told her to call me back. When she did she's like "Whats up? You wanted me to call...?" and im like "Oh hi! I'm pregnant". Really didn't want it to come out like it did....but I wasn't thinking. Hehe.

My father was on vacation with my younger brother. My younger sister (16) already knew so I let her know the day I was going to tell my mom so that she could go out or whatever if she was uncomfortable with being around when I dropped the bomb.

My mom reads before bed every night so when she was doing that, I called my home phone in her bedroom from my cell phone downstairs and told her I was coming up to talk about something. Then I sat down on her bed and just told her I was pregnant.. then we had to talk forever and I cried a bit but my mom didn't yell at me or anything.

The next night she told my dad, I worked until 10pm that day so I had to deal with it when I got home but he wasn't that bad either. No yelling or anything whatsoever!

My parents REALLY pushed me to have an abortion but I stuck to my guns, which was hard because after "letting them down" and getting pregnant while unmarried, living at home, and starting college a couple of weeks later... I really wanted to redeem myself in their eyes! There were a lot of hard conversations and I'm going to school while pregnant, which I'm sure is going to be exhausting and really hard at times but I know I need to get this done for my child so I'm going to finish - which my parents are supporting me with, they've paid for everything so far actually.

And while relieved to just have it out there, my parents annoy me so much sometimes I wish I never told them, LOL.
