stop Rhys from jumping all over me!

hes so bouncy just lately and with me feeling sick too Rhys bouncing on me is not a good thing!

How did you cope with another child when pregnant?

I dont want Rhys to feel like a dont want cuddles etc but i cant stand him jumping on my tummy all the time

can u not try and explain to him that he has to be very careful with you because his little brother or sister is growing in your tummy so he mustn't jump on you?

hes only 10 months and i have tried to tell him but he does know what im on about!!!

I don't think theres much you can do with a 10 month old, they don't understand well enough. I know what you mean Terrie, Bethanie is 10 months in a couple of weeks and sometimes she seems to understand little things, but no way would I be able to explain that to her lol. Plus your little one looks like he moves about loads (in that vid you posted of him).

I think at this stage of pregnancy you're going to be ok with him jumping around, baby is padded well and so tiny anyway I doubt it'd do any harm at all. Maybe if he gets a bit too jumpy you can just say "no" firmly and put him down, they seem to get the idea with that.

thanks tilly. i think if i tell him no hes not going to understand that its not because i dont want to play with him... do you get what i mean? When Colin is here i can say 'play with daddy' and Colin can take him but when im on my own its hard to make him understand. i dont want Rhys to think i dont want him near me!

Yea I get what you mean, obviously just gentle jumps on you won't be a problem, but if he gets over excited or something. Sometimes Bethanie gets like that and can really hurt me, slapping me round the face or something and it's not easy to say no but you have to sometimes. Im sure he won't think you don't want him near you, just make up for it with lots of cuddles etc. :)

Terrie, I remember what that was like. My 1st was 9mths old when I fell with my second.

When my son would jump on me, I would say Ouch and pretend to cry, ( and say kisses, gentle cuddles) and would be very gentle and kiss me better. Sometimes I would have a pillow near me and put that over my tummy.
It is hard when they are so young, they don't understand.
