Click on the "user CP" in the pale purple bar at the top of the page. Then go to "Edit Ignore List" on the lefthand side under "Settings and Options". You will no longer see threads that that person has started or their replies to existing threads.

You wont see their posts, but if another member quotes their posts - you'll see that

Because it's a free Internet and this is a public forum. They can read your posts if they want to. Even if the system blocked them from reading your posts when you put them on ignore, they could just log out of their account and read them anyways.

The ignore system here is really great, btw. In the normal browsing mode, you won't even be able to tell they're commenting on the thread unless someone else quotes them. (In mobile, you'll see a small message that says something about the comment being hidden because so-and-so is on your ignore list.) Other forums that I've posted on always display a message telling me the person is commenting, and that's annoying. This forum allows me to easily forget those people exist.

I have like, 10 people on ignore and the thought of them wasting their time posting their judgmental, bitchy comments on my threads when I'm never going to see what they're saying puts a smile on my face every time.
