How do you all ripen pineapple fast

I've got a pineapple that was purchased a week ago an it's still not ripe.

What can I do to get it ripe really fast. I need it done before Friday if possible.

I'm sure I heard that pineapples do not ripen once they have been removed from the plant.

Not sure about how to ripen faster but I just learned from a lady at Whole Foods that you should turn your pineapple upside down for 24 hours before cutting into it. Supposed to redistribute the sugars throughout the fruit and make it super sweet and juicy. Have one that has been sitting upside down for a few days now and will probably cut into it tonight. Yum!!

i heard bananas help rippen fruit, they release some sort of gas, so if you place some near it it might help.
